Ok. So you are a Hernando now...so tell us a bit about you..

Good morning everyone.

Ah well, who am I? I've been working on that question for 60 years or more. I went under the same alias at TOS so some of you may already know me. I write and say what I really feel and have found that most people seemed to support it and a few hated it. Luckily most seemed to appreciate it.

I must say I was greatly disappointed at what went down at TOS for the same reasons already mentioned. Because of that I'm thrilled that Charles has reopened Hernando's in a more tolerant location.

Who am I? Ex-military, IT engineer for a large WA company, father of 3 raised children and semi retired due to external circumstances. That's why I spend so much time online.

Let me say again I'm happy to see Hernando's resurrected and the familiar faces I've come to know and respect. I am hopeful.

This sounds like a place I have to post in, after all, we are all Hernandos, no one is above or below anyone else. I just happen to have an additional job.

I was born in Minnesota, both of my parents were born in Manitoba (Yes, Marc, I guess that makes me Canadian at some deep level. Care to sponsor me for citizenship if things blow up in the States?), and all of my Grandparents were born in Europe.

I never knew my Grandfathers, but my Grandmothers were astonishing people with amazing survival stories and accomplishments. I could brag about them and their children all day. Mom and Dad accomplished incredible things. My sister is now a federal judge in Minnesota, she and her husband have done many admirable things. My Mom is still alive and will turn 94 in the summer. Dad died about a decade ago.

Me? Well, there's only so much success and achievement in the world.

I have to write a bio for Reality Remix Show (Our wonderful sponsors, so let's try this as a draft.

My mind and career bounces like a cat dropped from three stories onto an underwater trampoline. I've run a carnival ride, been a federal law enforcement agent, worked at the Post office as a mail clerk, practiced as an attorney, taught college classes, been an active duty Army officer, back in the 70's (making Captain in the reserves), picked up a B.A., MBA, and J.D., worked in a printing and mailing company, and rode a motorcycle. (Until it was hit by a station wagon sending me to the hospital for a couple of weeks.)

I've lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, and Kentucky. I've visited Cuba, Mexico, France, Germany, and Canada.

I've scared the feces out of some family members (and mental health workers) by some excessively reckless car driving games. I accepted a dual suicide offer from a young woman 15-20 years ago, but she chickened out. Yet there are some who like me. No accounting for taste.

Favorite authors are P.G. Wodehouse (Sir P.G. Wodehouse. He was knighted two months before he died.), G.K. Chesterton, C.S Lewis, and several in science fiction.

I have two daughters in their thirties, and a woman who became my Ex, about thirteen years ago. I don't recall seeing her since. We were two months short of our 25th. No animosity involved, we still exchange cards.

No hobbies, unless Hernando's counts. No pets now, but I have picked up several from the streets and pounds.

Why is the print sooo small. Or is it my eyesight? LOL

Who am I? Well.... It is fitting I'm spending my weekend reviewing Shakespeare with a question like that! (Anyone ever tried watching the MODERN Hamlet remake? Good Lord.. Bill Murray should be ashamed)

Well, lets see.. I think it can best be said that one of my better friends during my early teens was a Kaypro 8088 (With 8mhz turbo, mind you!). With that, I managed to run two BBS systems and even managed my first life embarrassment and big lesson. Ahhh... You see, I had my computer stuffed into a converted closet in my bedroom. A nice place for it, I thought. We're talking the late 80's here, and homosexuality wasn't even discussed openly. Things like the gag or jokes in the movie Stripes were about the extent of public discourse a teenager ever saw. So.. Naming it "In The Closet BBS" Seemed quite appropriate. Err.... My first lesson in double meanings and the need to learn BEFOREHAND, what they may be. lol..... I was horrified to learn what I was basically suggesting about myself to the world...after my parents almost had strokes on the spot. Yes... Life's little lessons. They do come, welcome or not.

After a childhood spent bending the occasional ordinance and maybe even fracturing a minor law here and there (err...traffic ones, of course ) The bunny discovered travel called and travel could become a profitable living! So..Off to Billy Joe Bob's trucking school for me at the ripe old age of 21. A few weeks and a few thousand dollars of bad teaching for the wrong things later? I were a twucker! Yay! 15 year of that, and finally getting across ALMOST (I did try too!!) every mile of U.S. Interstate in the lower 48, outside border points? Alas....the trucker menu caught up to me, and health insisted I seek life elsewhere.

Course..Its important to mention I was a computer nerd the whole time too. Having, what I believe to have been, one of the first 110v powered full size PC's onboard an 18 wheeler as a full time feature in the late 90's. At least it drew attention like mad and I didn't see another for a couple years. Desktop...printer..20" monitor.. lol.. That was during a semi-owner operator position where I had the freedom for the power solutions that required on a vehicle back then. (21" CRT's THEN were BIG..HEAVY..and nearly dimmed my lights when powered on).

Ahh yes.. I digress into the halls of the past. A tempting thing when life probably has more behind than in front for numbers at 40.

Finally, I wandered into doom reading, writing and bad arithmetic around the Alex Jones network as a regular poster for awhile on one of his primary web properties. It's a small pool though, and it doesn't take long to outgrow it. Enter TOS...and the funniest story there, I'll cut by about 80%. A friend I met through another site I still work at, told me about TOS. His big thing was FEMA camps...and for all I know, he may have finally found one to be put into. He did real world stuff, outside just typing about it. Anyway... He found TOS to be too....stuffy...back in 2011, and got himself pushed to the sidelines of chat so quickly by insisting he had the only truth? Well... I think we all know how that works out with a new guy. He didn't fare well... He tells me not to bother. TOS is too hostile, the users are all trolls, and everyone sucks. A CHALLENGE I see!! So..I hopped right over, made myself an account and whalla! Damn near made a life home of the place, if not for a few private things toward the end for me there.

Now? I'm working to be a professional know it all...or...err...I think Journalist is the official term I'm supposed to use. (Darn..keep forgetting that part..heh). I'm over 3 years in college now and should be in State University starting next fall. Off to a bachelors in Journalism under a Masters in English writing. (It's not half as fancy as all that sounds... it just means if I can't DO...I can always go and Teach...and that's literally about what the Master's adds to it, too).

Aside from that? I'm back from what has largely been a break from the online community in general for a good number of months. Good to be back, GREAT to see everyone still doing well and happy to contribute wherever I can to help with more! :)

That about sums up the two bit tour with the wooden nickle bonus.

Welllllllllll . . . far be it from me to clue you in . . . about one study . . . which found that 100% of the blokes who had a certain animal as their favorite critter . . . turned out to be of a certain minority orientation. LOL.

It was a bit of a shock reading that because virtually NOTHING in sociological, psychological research ever comes up 100%.

Your reading and Alex Jones stints sound interesting. What abiding conclusions do you maintain at this point?
