On the plus side for good things, out of nowhere today Quin wandered up and asked if I wanted to go look at some dresses with her because she saw one online at a store that she was interested in for the homecoming dance and it was listed as only costing about $15.00. So I said sure and we went out. They didn't have the particular dress that she liked anymore, but she found another one that she loves and it was marked down to $10.00 and some shoes that match it perfectly were on sale for $7.00. She also found a dress that she fell in love with that will be perfect for prom this next spring and it cost only $20.00 and she already has shoes that will look wonderful with it. So, we got homecoming, prom, and shoes taken care of early and all for only $37.00.
Then we went a few other places and wandered around and window shopped. Once we were heading home, we were coming up near a Walmart and she asked if we could stop and just wander around for a bit. She said she was having fun and just wanted to hang out with me for a while. I think I had a bit of something in my eye then, because it was watering a little. Russ is away for the weekend with his mom and dad to see his grandma in Kansas City and Quin and I are on our own for the weekend, so it wasn't a problem to stop at walmart and people watch and wander for a while. We didn't end up getting home until almost 2 a.m. and then Quin wanted to try her dresses on again and discuss what makeup would look best with them, so we sat and talked for a while longer.
It was so nice. We had a lot of fun and it felt SOOO good that my teenager wanted to hang out and go out with mom for the day.
