They pretty much cut our place out of forest, and I have been toying with the idea of making one of these but came across this one and it looks to be well made. I am interested in design ideas for inexpensive ideas like this. For you survivalist out there this site has a few good things that might interest you. There is some very sharp ex-military guys here and I would love to open up some discussions on traps, perimeter alarms, etc. We are considering moving to a very rural area in the next couple of years, or sooner if things get crazy. It would be nice to discuss property, locations, best States, etc. etc. Kind of leaning towards Kentucky area with initial research.
@marlingrace,] here is the kicker. What you posted would be considered a booby trap in each and every state if it launched projectiles and you could be looking at hard time as those are BIG no-no. If it was a noise maker, then you'll have every deer setting it off as well.
I'd prefer something along the lines of sensors, coupled with cameras.
That way when you are jarred outta yer sleep at 2am...it's a quick check and go back to sleep or into combat mode.
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
They are supposed to be used with blanks and the company that sells them offers blanks, and a kit as well. Didn't want to hurt anyone for sure just get early warning. But I like the sensor and camera idea, we should find some links and get things posted. Silent would be better. Especially since you can take a look on a monitor. Good idea, see I knew you guys would be great for this.
Geese .... highly terratorial .... fierce ( geese will attack people that intrude in their area ) raise a ruckus ..... also get fresh eggs .... garden fertilized .... and good eating .....
Roman legions used geese for security .... and more recently the u.s military used them for security at some bases in europe ....
Got several running round out here ( though they outnumbered by the chickens who seem to breed faster than rabbits ) ....
If thought things were going to get hairy due uninvited guests that somehow made it past all the natural hazards out here theres either Option 1 : vanish long before they arrive with house wired to detonate when they enter ... Option 2 : stay activate perimeter defence - set up claymores .... bouncing bettys .... and other nasty surprises for them ....

Chicken is good eatin'...though it does get old after a while.

My world has never been quite right anyways. Even as exhausted as I am, it doesn't take much thought to bring harm upon my fellow man. I just type slower.

Yep and dipped in the same stuff charlie dipped them in lets just say any uninvited guests will be in for some very big surprises .... then theres also a battalion of yards from nearby villages ready to help out if needed ....
Actually have that going on here in the States where I live to a degree. Nice and quiet. Though that may change this week. But I know once I move to Wisconsin, it'll definitely be quiet.
