Okay folks... I thought I was going a little goofy this morning, when this happened the first time. This time, it just pissed me off...so I ask, has anyone ELSE thought this may have happened and just blown it off as something else?
#1. I had made a full reply to a thread this morning, hit submit and moved on to other things... When I came back later? It was gone. The whole thing. Trust me when I say that as the Tech Bunny around here...no one deleted it by a manual action. I'd know that, and wouldn't need to ask in befuddlement.
I figured THAT one could have been a simple matter of clicking the wrong button and 'swearing' I hit the submit button. It happens... No biggy..
#2. The Zimmerman thread I just added had a whole second half to it. I cut that short to a sentence and ended it ..when that whole second half vanished like a fart in the wind. Now...THAT wasn't a 'maybe I did something else' issue. That happened right in front of me. All I did was switch to BBCode and back again to preview to check a spacing issue and...everything after the second quote had vanished. As if the buffer had a brain fart and blew my text right out its ear.
Anyone else had this happen though? I can understand not thinking much of it..and not saying anything. I never would have if only the first thing had happened...because I COULD easily have done that myself and felt like a first class clown to learn it after saying something. It's a pattern now tho...if only a small one.
To add a question to this, as I suspect this might be with my ISP as much as anything?
Is anyone else having issues loading pages this morning? Not just HH, but other places? I'm seeing up to a 5 second (long 5 count) delay on initial page load to basics like CNN and Drudge Report as I've played around to try and track this down.

I've noticed lately on Drudge is that it will load fine. I'll click a link and read the article, and when I hit "Back" it will load with nothing but lines where the headline should be.
As for HH, your rant does sound familiar, but cannot remember the exact nature of the glitch when posting a comment, if I had just hit the wrong tab or what. It only happened to me once. Thankfully it was a short response and I just retyped it and it took.
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
Okay, you cannot make this stuff up. As we're seemingly all having some levels of trouble this morning? (I'm seeing more reports elsewhere, too)...I came across this.
Of course, I am sure this is 100% pure and total coincidence.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Continuing the break with State of the Union tradition, President Barack Obama will spend most of the coming week previewing more of the proposals he will outline in the address, including on identity theft, electronic privacy and cybersecurity, the White House announced Saturday.
After all, there is absolutely no possibility that they'd pull something over the weekend to gin up interest and a sense of urgent need for the next week's agenda priorities..right?
That map is quite a thing to watch. What is the deal with the massive bombardments that come occasionally? It looks like a hundred systems originate an attack at the same instant?

Ok I saw this and immediately had to write, I work on my computer, and have a system set up, almost every agent today had tech problems, I spent most of my first shift rebooting the applications, its is NOT just you!

Hey guys.. I don't know what caused it for me, but I know what just fixed it. I noticed that "Resolving Host...." had been the message in the status bar at the bottom of my browser. I'd already tried resetting my DNS in both the router and the browser...but there was more to do. 5 steps, in fact, and I just followed all of these in sequence. No more problems, and this actually loads faster now than it did before the hiccups started a couple days ago.
Change your DNS servers to public DNS servers Clear DNS cache of Chrome browser Clear DNS cache of your local PC or Mac Change privacy settings in Chrome browser Change LAN settings IP conflict due to multiple computers connected to the same wireless router
Hi, Wrabbit. Charles here. I moved Doug's post here as it seemed to fit better with the problems you're facing.
The past few days I have to close the HH window and come back to see any updates. It's like the site is frozen or something. Also in regards to that, when I do open a new Hernandos window it says I have to log-in, and when I click the link it takes me to the home page and shows me as being logged-in. (Without actually logging in) Did that make sense?

I know this is a silly question..but gotta ask. Have you cleared your browser cache or just run something like CCleaner for good measure to get it all?
I've been having serious issues for a few days with different things..and I really don't know what caused it in the end. What actually DID solve my issues..doesn't make me feel good, to be honest, and the above solution I posted had only fixed it for a short time. What actually fixed it was pulling up the net internals on the Chrome display, and running an internal but NET based Trend Micro scan. Now, those two things didn't FIX anything...but the problem vanished within 5 minutes of those two things going active on my machine and hasn't returned as of now. (It vanished last evening). I doubt mine has anything to do with yours, but if it isn't what that bad nagging feeling is for my situation?
Well, follow the steps in the post above on the link I gave (nothing there can do BAD things. It is cleaning and maintenance steps that just rarely get done, because they rarely need to be in that way). Steps 5 and 6 are what probably won't relate ..but the first 3 should, and 4 is quite likely for an existing setting.
Let me know if you're still having issues after clearing cache the quick or long way above. We can go from there. (I definitely DO need you to follow up if at all possible.. Your problem is the type of annoyance a new user can leave and never come back for. Something I'll fix if it needs fixing, ASAP.)

Oh... One other quick note. The DNS server change it recommends (and I use) is to Google's open DNS servers. (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) DNS is very simply what turns "www.hernandoshideaway.net" into the 269.55.67.172:80 number which the net REALLY works from at a lower level (that isn't the real number, but an example).
You are most likely using your internet providers DNS right now, which is fine, but also more prone to a config error (since every ISP has it's own people) and there is no telling what ISP's are dedicating to their DNS servers for resources. Google has server farms set up for it, as I understand their approach. There are also other public and open DNS servers (google for others) that you can use if Google just rubs ya wrong.
Also... DNS translates name to number, but is also a capture point for your web activity. It can be..doesn't mean it is. However, where your ISP knows your name, so to speak, Google handles millions of requests almost overlapping into their DNS and no one on this planet is good enough to track all that, and actually do anything about much of any of it. Anonymity through large crowd size, as well as what might be a real speed bump in web response.
Will do. But it'll have to be done in the morn, Starting to get fuzzy headed and am having fun at the same time if ya know what I mean. LOL
I have cleared everything, I did run CCleaner and AntiMalwareBytes and everything came up clean as did Norton and MSE.
I'm starting to wonder if someone at TOS is messing with you guys. IPViking won't tell you that though. But their clicks/hits are trending downward at a fast pace these past months and HH and the CJ sites are taking away a lot of their business. Just sayin'
