Could it be his browser I wonder affecting it?

It is an issue on later versions of Safari for the Mac, and possibly for other browsers. You need to allow cookies from all sites, because the cookie for the News Feed isn't technically on Hernando's Hideaway, it's on "teh bunny's" site that we do the coding on.
Go to Safari preferences and fix it by checking this option:

I'm on Internet Explorer and use InPrivate Browsing. (That way the NSA will never, ever, be able to intercept me. Ha-ha to them!)
That's probably where the problem is. Thanks for the tips.
Without cookies, your selection won't "stick", but with the way I wrote it, you should be able to choose different news feeds manually and click through to the articles, so long as you don't reload the main Hernando's page. We'll take a look at what it would take to fix it permanently.
