Well, that means another 2 years without any meaningful change or hope of any improvement.
He's been at the helm or very near it for the very worst of the last decade, and we shouldn't expect much different. He also had leadership position for the brief period Republicans had the Senate and House the last time. He wasted it and nothing meaningful was accomplished. He's been in serious house leadership since 2006 though.
Oh well.. I don't know why I expected electing new people would change anything. He can independently kill any bill or matter from coming to the floor as sure as Reid has been all this same period for the Senate.
Obama has himself a free field, and this isn't going to be the most shining moment to come for our Republic, I believe. Not by a good measure.

Only 24 showed any courage at all? Only 24 GOT IT, for how sick of the norm we've all become? Well...half those 24 were probably just voting that way for their own petty political reasons anyway. So.. maybe 12 have anything like moral decency with regard to leading the nation. Sounds about right I guess...
He hasn't wasted time, either.

It's precisely that kind of scumbaggery that makes the Republican leadership no better than Pelosi (which takes A LOT to say for me) or that doddering old fool Reid. Corrupt to the core, and damn ye who would so much as question the new and so much larger version of Tammany Hall. Boehner makes a crappy Boss Tweed...but I guess the Republicans will settle for anything these days.
(I guess some who have said the sides have merged and nearly switched places, may have a point...what is the difference in even appearances, any longer?)

WASHINGTON — Representative John A. Boehner beat back an embarrassing challenge to his speakership from aggrieved conservatives on Tuesday as Republicans assumed control of both houses of Congress, pledging to restore function and civility to a body that has become a symbol of disorder for most Americans.
Two dozen Republicans voted against Mr. Boehner, and one withheld his support, clouding what should have been a day of euphoria for the party after its definitive midterm election victory. It was the largest number of votes against a speaker from members of his or her own party in at least two decades.

After he secured his third term as speaker Tuesday afternoon, losing 25 votes on the House floor to some relative-unknown members of the Republican Conference, Boehner moved swiftly to boot two of the insurgents from the influential Rules Committee. That could be just the start of payback for the speaker’s betrayers, who might see subcommittee chairmanships and other perks fall away in the coming months.
