In reading this, I suppose people can't run around saying these things, with this level of specificity, and have nothing happen to them. I can see how the targets of his ranting probably had a distinct feeling of threat, and that someone out there might mean to do what they said, in his case. So...this can't just go in with nothing happening.
Still.....THIS much?
ST. LOUIS (CN) - Prosecutors charged a Ferguson protestor with 10 felony counts for allegedly threatening to kill police officers Thursday, among other online threats.
Jason Valentine, 35, of St. Louis, faces 10 counts of making a terrorist threat, a Class C felony. Valentine is currently being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. Each count carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
Did he Email the PD directly? (It wouldn't seem so). It seems he got mouthy and flushed his ignorance over Twitter. Likely in a one-up contest among others, as I saw so much of at the height of the various periods Ferguson has recently gone through.
The posts were all made on Twitter under the handle @jdstl314, and Valentine admitted to being the only person to use that handle, according to Joyce's complaint.
I guess we need to recall with almost anything said these days? Others are watching, and many of them live in a world where paranoia is a way of life and to extremes we'd call outright mental illness. That can certainly lead to lashing out, like a toddler in a tantrum...to basically bury someone like this, for having less judgement than he did a big mouth.
Ouch! (10? Really?? He'll have learned to say nothing whatsoever ...not just think more about what he says, I'm sure)
