I can't put my finger on it, but last night and and this early in the morn has just felt weird. It all started while I was doing dishes, waiting for dinner to come out of the oven and listening to a show on NetFlix I had never seen before when the Deja-Vu quite literally hit me. It was just a quick sequence of events, but left me feeling anxious for some odd reason. (The show was a comedy, so nothing scary there.)
And here I awoke a hour ago and have not been able to get back to sleep. No nightmare that I know of. Just a feeling of oddness (anxiety? there is very little stress in my life at the moment)
I can't remember the last time I had such a strong feeling of Deja-Vu. It has to be decades at least and it's been quite awhile since I've woke in the middle of the night feeling like this.
It just struck me as so weird that I had to write it down. Maybe doing such will help me get back to sleep.
Maybe we are all suffering a form of jet lag style issue with the time of year and seasons? I mean, that could screw with us older people quite a bit, I'd imagine.
It's a few days to Xmas.... Does it FEEL like it? I'm serious. Jet Lag is perceptual as much as anything, and so may this be?
Feel any Xmas Spirit? Live in an area that has seen any real seasonal weather yet (No on both here)... Is the TV doing anything to help anyone feel like it is late December vs. the open scenes of a tense war movie?
Perhaps our eyes and brains see it is a time of year that, for us older folks, was powerful for how special and overwhelming it USED to be for society as a whole. Since we have folks who flat don't seem to believe in cheer or happiness in general in charge? Christmas seems almost like an annoyance of timing....doesn't it?
That is sooo wrong tho....and perhaps that has something to do with real off feelings?

We are experiencing and witnessing the birth of the new light of the sun (Winter Solstice) intensified by the birth of the new moon light (New Moon). Both are born from the deepest darkness, the long and moonless night. Maybe it had something to do with this.
Some people don't give much thought to how alignment of the planets, and anything astrological can affect us, but I've noticed it. Some people experience depression and "bad luck" when certain planets are in retrograde, as well.
Deja vu? I don't know how that would figure in, but your sleeplessness could.
Well, that was a weird night. Thank God I don't have to work in the morning as I just woke up a little bit ago and feel fine and rested.
I never thought about the alignment of planets much, though the subject does fascinate me to a degree. I do pay attention to the moon somewhat and it was a new moon last night. (Gonna have to make a note of that)
Overall I just felt that something significant was going to happen, good or bad I have no idea. Of course, I am also of the mind that something significant is always happening somewhere, but some odd reason it struck me strong yesterday. Guess I'll have my first cup 'o joe and peruse the news.
Thanks y'all for letting me bend your ears...or eyes as it were. (THAT sounds painful )
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
For several millennia astrology was a huge part of science and civilization is pretty much every culture. Only today is it considered by mainstream to be taboo or a false science. Wouldn't it be interesting to learn nuclear testing is only done during certain planetary alignments to increase yield and our scientist know this? I find it interesting today that complete cities and were built around astrology and precise alignments.
I think a case can be made for several passages in Revelations to be astrological symbols and signs.
Of course this is just the opinion of one old man that wishes he had paid closer attention to life when he was young.
Indeed.. Astrology has been seen by millions over time to be an accurate system of predictions and divination. Of course.. Divination in itself is something held by a minority at any given point in history. Blood letting was also seen, for a good part of history, as cutting edge medical science and an absolutely solid approach to the treatment of illness in people. A U.S. President was even treated by blood letting. They'd call it actionable malpractice today and possibly jail a doctor, depending on degree of negative outcome.
Times change...people advance..and we evolve. Is astrology legitimate? I don't honestly know...but I won't try and sell you my view if you don't try and sell me yours on the topic. (sly grin)
I have my merit badges in the realm of the paranormal. This is just one aspect of it I've never really been a believer with.
lol no sales here my furry friend. At one point in my life I almost married a paranormal merit badge. I escaped with my happiness still intact, and with the understanding there was much I didn't understand. It started me down a research road quite interesting, I just wasn't comfortable where it was taking me in the end. Some day after we chat fed, this will be the next topic.
As far as astrology goes it's influence on people and societies secret or not that I find interesting. Mainly alchemy and spagyrics.
And bloodletting is alive and well, the FDA considers maggots and leeches both approved, and biological products and devices. Page 25 FDA PDF some things never change. I was amazed that medicine still has a medieval component.
lol... True.. I know maggots are still in use, and good too. It's icky to the point of retching to think about ..but would you rather have infection removed almost painlessly that way or..have Dr. Feelgood come in with his metal instruments of tort..err...medicine, to remove the infected flesh, one little bit at a time?
I think I'd choose to have my family smuggle me in the kind of drugs they called mythical in even the 60's, so I would never have to give a thought to quite HOW my infection was being removed.
In actual blood letting tho? I'm not aware of anything in Western Medicine (maybe some witch doctor still playing 'gee..seems logical to me!') which still uses that silly placebo.
When I think of blood letting, as it nearly killed a US President once? I think of this...
Performed with something like this...
...as they seemed to believe too much blood became an imbalance to good health. I guess they really DID have a field they called medicine back then... hacksaws and devices like that brass box of razor blades...but geeze! Medicine is a relative term, eh?
Actually blood-letting is alive and well in todays day and age and is quite profitable as well. Though we now call the procedure "Donating" blood and Plasma. Cha-Ching! 7/39
And it is generally known that doing such also helps the body regenerate newer cells to replace the lost ones which is for the most part...a good thing. Newer is always better than older when it comes to physical well-being.
