Happy thanksgiving to all of my HH family. I hope that all of you have a wonderful day. I am thankful for all of the friends I have made here. You have become like family and I am grateful that I have had the chance to learn from all of you.
Thanks, Glencairn ! We typically don't do Thanksgiving, but I guess we sort of are this year -- nothing fancy, just a ham, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, pie and I'm making peppermint meringues right now. I think Spyder's been spiking his cider already, too
Edit: And with that mangled of sentence, you'd think I was, too Fixed it!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Nyiah, it sounds like a really good meal and I hope that the peppermint meringues turned out great. I've never had those before, but they sound good.
rickymouse, I feel your pain. I ate so much that I'm afraid to step on my scale and am really glad that my hubby and daughter are looking forward to turkey leftovers because I think that I am turkeyed out for a bit.
Glencairn, there's still meringues & ham left (can we say "ham & cheese sammiches"?) but everything else for the most part is finished off. The kids had their food coma naps, Spyder sauced himself into a nap and I potatoed myself into one.
The meringues I made were a big batch, I made oversized ones (I think technically called French Patisserie style?) with a recipe doubled to account for 4 egg whites. Properly sized, this should have made 7-8 dozen "normal" sized little ones, but I made about 4 dozen biggies. Spyder's been taking them to work to munch on, turns out everybody else has been munching on them, too. I guess they're a hit XD
