I can agree that the progressive movement is dedicated to stopping Trump. They've tried crazy things, like the Electoral College revolt, and I'm sure they will do whatever they can to impede or even stop Trump. Every movement has crazy people, and I'm sure that some on the left will see assassination as an option.
I'm also sure that security officers realize that there is more anger directed at Trump than at other recent Presidents. Who cared, for example, about Jimmy Carter or the first Bush? I'm not surprised that the NYPD and the Secrets are both at the tower, they both have jurisdiction.
The private security force concerns me, especially in the area of coordination. Outside of the White House, the Secrets coordinate with any local law enforcement. Throwing in a third force simply increases the chance for missed messages and seams in the protection. I suspect that the private force will wither to a few key people he has learned to trust over the last decade they've worked with him.
Let's wait and see.

Is that the point? I have to wonder. What is the failed ideology? Communism? Of course that has failed, see the Soviet Union, North Korea, Cuba, China, etc. But even if the ideology has been shown to be a failure that doesn't seem to matter. Could it be that the goal is nothing but power and control using a Socialist-Communist ideology to get there? It's been pointed out that no poor country ever became well off through Socialism (which I'll use as a shorthand term for Leftism), and many wealthy countries have become poor following those principles. But do the Socialist leaders care? I would argue that it doesn't matter to them.
I would wager that the American Left knows they won't stop Trump, but by continuing to shout they can count on raising anger and money from those who believe in them. That can be valuable in getting their power back. And, who knows, maybe they can create enough violence so that the next candidate from the Left can promise to restore "peace" to the streets and win the votes of those who are tired of being harassed. In the meantime there are only two tools left, but they are powerful tools. Intimidation and lawsuits will become the approach which the Left will use to wrest power from Trump. The 2018 elections will be very interesting.
