Quin has random fundraisers throughout the year at school for various different things. So far we've had one for class funds (things like prom and post-prom) and a band fundraiser that goes into the kids band accounts to help pay for band trips. The first one of the year is a band fundraiser and the kids sell boxes of Fannie Mae chocolates. The chocolates just came in today and I have a stupid amount of chocolate sitting in my living room.
Part of this is because I mentioned a few years ago that Russ and I usually buy an extra box or two and keep one for Quin and donate the others to different charities that are local to us. Sometimes the women's shelter, sometimes to the church that has an open kitchen (like a soup kitchen of sorts) and clothing days for people to receive donated clothing and dry food goods and sometimes to other places. Now we have two other relatives that liked that idea and decided to also buy boxes to donate. I have 8 boxes that are just to donate or gift and one that we keep.
I have pixies (like turtles), mint meltaways, and some assorted chocolate boxes. I don't know which one I want to keep. Pixies are usually my favorite and Quin likes the pixies sometimes and sometimes the others and she won't give me a solid answer on what she wants to keep. Now she decided that it's up to me to decide.
Definitely could be an interesting combination. My problem is that I don't like chocolate very much. Usually I like chocolate for only one day a month and that's it. There are a few exceptions like the chocolate mousse Russ makes for me sometimes and very occasionally I like un-frosted brownies, but otherwise I really don't eat chocolates candies other than that one day. So it is hardly worth me choosing a box and now Quin won't answer what she wants, she just knows she wants one to keep. Oh well, I'll figure something out.
