I am sure I am not teaching any of you a thing when I mention the new Pokémon Go game! Being the gamer that I am, The wife and I have downloaded this to give it a try to see what the fuss was all about!
Well...It is simply super cool! and a bit addictive! this game is designed to meke people walk around more imo! I have been playing it for 3 days now and I have walked over 15 km (only while playing the game) on top of what I noramlly walk! You have the option to hatch eggs but in order to do so, you have to walk a certain distance (2, 5 or 10km)
The whole point of this game is to walk around trying to find Pokémons (of course) but if you always stay at the same spot, you will get very few! But if you are willing to move around (not in a car for the lazier players), It gets interesting! The "Poke Stops" located all over cities are positioned at landmarks! like bridges, statues, monuments, historic sites, etc.
As I was walking with my wife last night, we found out that there were many "Poke Stops" wihtin our small town so we walked to the area to gather some cool items for our leveling up!
I had a pretty good laugh when I saw litterally dozens and dozens of people running all over the place trying to catch the little critters! while we were simply taking a walk, chatting away and catching Pokémons whenever they popped up!
There has been reported injuries and "situations" where players got themselves in a tight spot. Some blame the game....I blame the players that arent smart enough to reallize that when you walk around, its a good idea to look where you are going!
The negative point I can bring is that it is VERY glitchy (as do many new games when they are first released) and it freezes a lot.
Anyway, I will you let you all decide for yourselves if you wish to try it. You can read more about the app here (or anywhere online, just google it)
Let me know what you think! And if you're playing it, feel free to share some stories and annectdotes about your experience!
