Greetings all! I need to put this out in the world somewhere so that others will know. Anyone that knows me is aware that I don't make up crap. So this is what happened:
Yesterday my love stayed home from work so when I came home he was watching the news on CNN- mainly the hearings questioning the FBI director about his refusal to prosecute Hillary Clinton in the whole e-mail scandal. I don't normally watch CNN but he was into it so I just sat next to him on the sofa playing Candy Crush Jelly on my laptop until they finally cut away from the hearings and another news story tickled my ears enough to pay attention.
You see being a native Texan who has migrated to Kentucky any news story that involves my beloved home state quickly gains my uninterrupted attention. The news story was about the New Black Panther Party marching and holding a rally in Austin that day in protest of the recent police killings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. They were armed as usual. They called on black people to arm themselves and to patrol their own neighborhoods (note: no mention was made of killing white people or the police, at least as reported by CNN). There was video. Then on to the next story about other protests around the country for the same.
Fast forward to this afternoon. Nothing on the news except for stories about the Dallas police shootings last night- with the exceptions of one of the men murdered by police's family asking for peace and forgiveness for the officer, more videos of both shooting and an interview with Wolf Blitzer grilling the heck out of Hillary Clinton about the e-mail scandal. Debate with daughter on Facebook (don't know how that kid turned out so uber liberal/progressive) and go searching on the web for the story about the Black Panthers from yesterday.
All traces of the story have disappeared. Not on CNN, not on anything, not even on the "dark web". All traces of it are gone. I know what I heard and saw and that it definitely said this occurred yesterday and that it was in protest of the two recent killings by police so it was not a recycled story. I even searched the newspaper websites for Austin and Round Rock. Nothing. All you can find anywhere on the web linking the New Black Panthers to Austin are much older stories (mostly from 2015) and a Youtube video from March.
It's like after the police killings in Dallas this story was completely erased from everything. Believe me or not- that is your perogative- but I just had to put this out in the world somewhere for my own peace of mind.
