Ok so I ask, and not tongue and cheek either. Is this really such a bad thing? We have Russia bombing ISIS and doing a damn good job. And now we have created chaos within the rebel structure that of course requires a balance, but really what better could you ask for than getting these bastards to fight among themselves? In America we always laugh at the idea because many have said of gangs, just give them the guns and ammo and let them solve there problems so you only get one gang. This makes it easy to finish the survivor. Is the strategy really floundering or is it working perfectly? So ask yourself because it is a fifty/fifty chance of getting it right. The greatest military power in the world with the most successful spy agency ever know is either stupid or brilliant. It is something through research you will have to decide.
I laugh as I read this last bit of the article, I don't think the military or the CIA think this is ending poorly. Asking politicians just gives you hyperbole, a deflection from the topic. Now if we can get the Saudi's fighting ISIS and Iran/Hezbollah, Turkey and the Kurds involved, Supply Libyan rebels to kill Gaddafi, finance and overthrow Egypt, back out of Afghanistan. Then all we would need to do is monitor the whole things with drones.... Oh wait..
"If the Syrian Civil War has taught us anything, it’s that there is a stark difference between how the US and Russia fight their wars. While Russia engaged in a successful air campaign over Syria and worked closely with Assad and Hezbollah to beat ISIS, America sowed chaos in the region by trying to support unpredictable extremists. To the surprise of no one with half a brain, this strategy is now floundering in the most embarrassing way."

"The LA Times reports that two American backed rebel groups have repeatedly fought each other in Syria over the past two months. It started in February when the CIA backed Knights of Righteousness were pushed out of the town of Marea by the Pentagon backed Syrian Democratic Forces. The leader of the Knights recently stated in an interview that “any faction that attacks us, regardless from where it gets its support, we will fight it.” Similar clashes between the two groups have been seen in the town of Azaz, which is situated between Aleppo and the Turkish border.
Who’d have thought that funneling weapons and training to a bunch of lunatics would end so poorly? Not our government, that’s for sure. And it doesn’t sound like they’re smart enough to cut their losses either.
Rep. Adam Schiff of the House Intelligence Committee described the situation as “an enormous challenge” and a “fairly new situation” before admitting “It is part of the three-dimensional chess that is the Syrian battlefield.” What he won’t admit is that the US has effectively lost the war in Syria, and their incompetent rebels won’t be overthrowing Assad anytime soon. If this war can be likened to sophisticated game, it’s clear that our government isn’t savvy enough to play it."
