"The candidate who dominated search and social media on Thursday night did not even appear on the Republican debate stage.
Credit where credit is due, he has been playing the media like a stradivarius since the beginning. He doesn't strike me as being that smart but the brilliance of his actions and being the leader of his "Parties" nomination process is shear genius. But if he isn't that smart then the media is that stupid. The guy days before and now the day after is all everyone in any kind of media is talking about. He chose to raise money for veterans charities and donated 1 million dollars of his own for a total of 6 million. And keeping with the no debate policy came out smelling like a priced rose. He has the rest of the nominees attacking each other at this point and doesn't even have to say a nasty word, you have to admit it is brilliantly comical, and the other nominees, and media keep feeding from the trough of Trump.
I don't really like this guy and as time goes on his arrogance is becoming so heavy it will eventually keep him from lifting off of the ground of presidential success. So far I have begun to think it will be a showdown between Hillary and the Trumpster only to have currently the media treat him like they want him in this position. Because if Hillary doesn't end up being prosecuted then the media will release the hounds making it easy for HIllary to be a winner. It will be easy to cover the criminal activity of Hillary with the onslaught they can manage against Trump. It will be interesting to see if he is prepared for it, and still able to manipulate the media in such a fashion to become the new president. But if moving the chess pieces of political success in the last two days is any indication, he could very well be the next president. Not a place I want an arrogant business man with a long history of buying political favors from both parties.
Credit where credit is due, it has been the most interesting presidential nomination in my history thanks to one arrogant bastard from New York. As a side note: Many from New York have struck me as arrogant.

Donald Trump gained the most Twitter followers of any GOP presidential candidate during the Fox News debate, far ahead of Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. Rand Paul and Chris Christie rounded out the top five in terms of follower gains. Trump blew away the field on Twitter during the two hours, commanding 36 percent of the conversation compared to Cruz, the next closest with 16 percent, and Rubio, with 13 percent.
The most-tweeted moment of the debate came when Rubio cracked that Bernie Sanders "would make a good president ... of Sweden," with many users pointing out that Sweden does not, in fact, have a president. Other top moments included Cruz's clash with moderator Chris Wallace, Christie's call to "stop the Washington bull," and the time when Carson seemed to be taken by surprise when asked a question.
On Facebook, Cruz dominated the discussion among candidates who appeared at the debate, with the social network reporting that the Texas senator drove 41 percent of the conversation during the debate. Rubio commanded 18 percent, followed by Paul with 15 percent, Ben Carson with 10 percent, Christie with 8 percent, Jeb Bush with 5 percent and John Kasich with 3 percent.
Donald Trump raised million for veterans
Facebook did not include Trump in its numbers since he wasn't on stage, but the Manhattan billionaire would have been the No. 1 candidate had he appeared. He prompted more than double the Facebook conversation that Cruz did.
The top issue discussed on Facebook during the debate was immigration, followed by ISIS, Islam and Muslims, the size of government and the economy. Not surprisingly, Iowa led the list of states talking about the debate, followed by Wyoming, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Vermont.
Trump led all other candidates with volume of searches about him on Google throughout the event. Trump was the most-searched candidate following the debate in all 50 states.
Specific events that led to spikes in search traffic included Carson's (mis)quotation of the constitutional Preamble in his closing statement (a spike of over 1,600 percent). Searches for the term "amnesty" rose by 380 percent.
