Is it possible that you're being a bit harsh? Some of those quotes make real sense to me, but then again, I may be on a different planet.

1.) Starting with the last quote, we know that facial recognition software captures our images wherever we go. Security screening looks underneath our clothing. We also know that brain waves are detectable. Could it be that she's saying we don't have any legal protections in place for peoples' brain waves, and we'd better look into that sooner rather than later?

2.) There's something to be said for the GDP quote as well. GDP measures the amount of wealth or value produced by an economy. The amount of value produced per person (or Per Capita GDP) seems like a decent measure of material well-being to me. As far as economic performance goes, he may be right. Consider two countries, one with a GDP of 100 and one with a GDP of 1000. Is the second a ten times better performer? It depends. If the country with a GDP of 100 is someplace like the Seychelles, and the country with the GDP of 1000 is China or the US, you could say that the Seychelles really outperformed the US economically.

To me, it seems to be like comparing two factories which produce the same amount. One having the latest equipment and automation, the other being a patched together relic. While the product might be the same, we would criticize the new plant for not doing better, and praise the old one for doing as well as it did.

3.) Netanyahu's quote seems eminently reasonable to me. If we could persuade ISIS and all of its adherents that it can not possibly win, that "Resistance is futile," then the extremism will be crushed. Of course, the US continues to send the message that they have a very good chance of winning.

4.) PayPal may be completely crooked, I have no experience with them, but the quote itself is nothing special. He's simply saying "Complacency is bad" in different words.

5. & 6.) To be honest, you've got me. I have no idea what they mean. I can only guess that one is calling for industry to be run on a different set of principles, probably more socialistic ones. The other? Well, "an Internet of Women" sounds vaguely pornographic, so I assume I'm misunderstanding her.
