Ian Murdock is well known in Silicon Valley for being the founder of Debian, one of the most popular distributions of a Unix-like O/S. On December 28th, Murdock started sending out a string of tweets alleging to police abuse and more as well as stating that he was going to commit suicide. Obviously, many were concerned while others thought that Murdock's twitter account may have been hacked. Turns out, Ian Murdock is, in fact, dead.

These tweets, however, are only the beginning of all that Murdock tweeted just hours before his death. Here's a full PDF of more of his final tweets collected before his account was taken down by Twitter, courtesy of Venture Beat: img.sauf.ca/pictures/2015-12-29/c12fc3b2278596da4a26edd4a41f3373.pdf
It has been confirmed that Ian Murdock is dead, but there has been no comment from Docker (Murdock's employer) or the San Diego Police Department on either the cause of death or any of the above tweets. He did state in his tweets that he would be sharing his account on his blog, located here: ianmurdock.com/blog/. However, there is nothing there.
