The getting to know you thread...

I'm a Finnish Yooper who likes to learn. Other than that, I am sixty years old. Oh, yeah, I am not really a mouse.

I posted an intro that has all kinds of silly info about me. It is here: Glencairn's intro thread I figured it would be easier to just link it rather than try to copy and paste or recap it here. I'm fairly ordinary, or at least ordinary-ish.

I will be 49 one month from today. This will be the last year of being "in my 40s" before I roll "over the hill". i intend on making this year count by cramming as much love, fun and happiness into it as I possibly can!

I have been a transplanted Texan living in Kentucky for nearly a year and a half. That all changed today when I finally broke down and traded my Texas driver's license and voter's registration in for Kentucky ones- I am now officially a Kentuckian!

I came to Kentucky on July 1st of 2014 to begin a new life with my love Kdog and have absolutely no regrets- he is everything I have ever dreamed of in a lover, a partner and a best friend. My life has changed completely. I no longer feel I have to "walk on eggshells". I say and do whatever I please without fear of backlash. Even though his kids have yet to accept me into their lives ( I have a feeling this is more due to their mother's hatefulness than any hard feelings from them) my kids have accepted Kdog as my partner and love, as have the rest of my family.

I work all the time so have little time for posting on HH but catch up on reading here whenever I can. We are planning a trip to Texas this spring to see my family but I talk to all of them every week. For some odd reason they seem to love and miss me!

Now off to fold laundry because not another day off til Sunday!

Okay!  Here goes Nothing! 


I am 35 years old (36 in Feb)!  I have a beautifull wife (36) and 3 wonderfull children (boys 8 and 10, and my daughter is 13),We live in Beatiful Québec Canada (Born and raised).  Oh and we have 2 Dogs, 2 Cats, and a mouse!

I am ex-military!  I was released medically after ruining my back in Afghanistan in 2004 (that story is for another time)!  Now Stuck with this crappy injury for the rest of my life unfortunately!  I am the positive thinking type of guy!  I like seeing the good in everything whenever possible!  So I figured if I wouldn't have released, I likely would have been killed by now!


Haven been training in combat as an Infantry Riffleman, In my mid 20s, I thought I was invincible !!    I found out pretty fast this wanst the case!

Then I went back to college!  in IT!  did that and graduated...

Then in May of 2008, I hit rock bottom!  My Father/confident/Mentor Passed away due to a Brain tumor!  (I learned about TOS from him BTW! )

I felt lost for the longest time! (Sometimes I still do)  Then I started getting interested in spirituality a little.  Then a LOT!  And one day I met Charles(No not our Charles)!  He was a Reiki master/Teacher and i had no clue what the hell that was!  So I bought my very first book on the subject!

I received my very first treatment a few months later,  in early Summer of 2009)!  It was so amazing that I signed up for my level 1 attunement shortly after!  Now am a Level 2 practitionner (Should have been master by now but things happened preventing me from reaching this stage yet...I will though)  For more info on Reiki, please read my intro thread:  What is Reiki I was asked...

So now I work at DND in Ottawa, Canada!  in Administration  (hey! it pays the bills)  I have taken a HUGE liking in to camping since we purchased our trailler in 2011.  Now we're gone every weekend during the Summer (Mid-May to Mid-October) and its the best thing for my mental health!

I am a very friendly person, that gets along with everyone, that avoids conflicts, that respects others and all life and nature!  I am often a shoulder for those around me!   I even have perfect strangers telling me their problems sometimes! Thats a bit weird but if they feel better getting it off their chests, why not let'em right!?

Hi Everyone.  I am also a refugee from TOS, and I know just about everyone here from seeing you there.

My mind and body have been competing for the past few years; one swears I'm in my early twenties, and the other argues I'm over 100! 
They really go at it with one another, so I'll just say I'm somewhere in-between. 

I'm married and have one grown daughter, and a grown step-son who lives with us. 
I love to discuss space, psychology, spiritualism, metaphysics, paranormal, UFOs, or anything just plain weird. 

I hate to cook, but love to bake. (I don't understand that logic at all, but it's true!)

For entertainment, I like to read, watch videos (that increase my knowledge/wisdom), and listen to music.

I love to feed my soul with nature; it's an absolute MUST in my life! 
I love living somewhat out in the country, but not so far that I have to travel 50 miles to go shopping.

I love making new friends. I like people who are easygoing, but not a push-over, if you know what I mean. 
I also like people who have a sense of humor and a positive attitude.  I need people like that in my life because I'm a Taurus, and a redhead to boot.
That means I have a double temper tantrum when I get mad, but I'm not quick to anger as long as I have others like I described around me.

I'm also an empath and a sensitive.  My abilities aren't what they used to be when I was younger, but they are still there.

That's all I can think of right now.

Oh... one more thing... I love animals of all kinds, cats being my favorite.
