I believe France has some of the strictest gun laws in the world....yet the laws didn't stop the criminals involved in the Charlie Hebdo shootings recently.
And the laws evidently haven't stopped this from happening.....
An explosion rattled a bar near a Paris stadium around the same time as a separate shootout at a Paris restaurant Friday, according to reports. Police in Paris told NBC News that several people had been shot at a restaurant, around the same time as at least one other incident.
At least two French media outlets reported that there were fatalities in the shooting at the restaurant in the 10th arrondissement in Paris. Police did not specify how many were shot or their conditions.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
According to BFMTV, one of the gunmen shouted: "It's for Syria" at Bataclan and Allahu Akbar. link
Coming to a town near you.....
Thanks, Barry.
you are absolutely right nugget, he is going to import 200,000 of them eventually. How many will come already radicalized? Our government has already said they have no way to do background checks.
I don't think their first stop will be Idaho anymore than it will be Virginia. Everyone here has a ccw and a gun in the car just like Idaho. It will probably be somewhere like New York City. They have no guns and make easy targets.

History shows Muslim's to be a blood-thirsty lot that has zero tollerence for anyone who disagrees with their relioious views, and even less regaurd for the sanctity of human life. They can't even get along with each other in their own country, so why the hell allow them to infiltrate the entire world???
I know some Muslims don't follow strict Sharia Law, but until there is a way to define the peaceful ones more clearly, I don't feel very comfortable watching them set up bases around the world.

To be fair (don't you just love that saying?) Christianity has had it's share of violent reactions to different cultures and religions....but in the last 500 years or so Christianity has matured into a relatively peaceful religion.
You can not say the same about Islam....if anything it has gotten more violent in the last 100 years.....

But you cant say the same about Muslims they started this crap when Thomas Jefferson was president, and he ended up declaring war on them. He started presidency in 1801 to 1809 we will call it two hundred years ago. Before Israel, before ISIS, Before Al qaeda before anything they claim to be the problems of today.
Plus you need to go back a bit farther with Christianity. Probably more like a 1000, and Christianities fight was with the Muslims over traveling to the holy land, the period when The Knights Templar got involved. Then the whole mess started.

This morning we found out that 2 daughters of family friends were killed on Friday night whilst out for the night celebrating a birthday in Paris.
We live an hour away from Paris.
Guns laws over here are not as strict as what you may have heard on the news in your country or on the net.
I am a hunter, a hunting permit can be obtained quite easily over here in France by passing a fairly simple exam (after at least 15 to 20 lessons), giving you the right to own as many declared (or sometimes "undeclared" high powered rifles and shotguns as you want (I have 1 high powered semi-automatic rifle, one semi automatic shotgun and 2 classic twin barreled shotguns) (ALL DECLARED))... Hand me down firearms are also a very common thing here in the hunting community and we have just inherited 3 guns from my father in-law who passed away last year.
You can also own small handguns if you are a member of a shooting club although vetting is carried out beforehand.
However : The guns used last Friday are probably firearms that were smuggled over to France via Belgium after the war in Yugoslavia (many AKs and high powered automatic weapons have been found or used in drug related shootings in Marseille and Paris since the war in Yugoslavia ended).
When the borders were opened here in Europe (Shengen) this led to tons of firearms being purchased and freely smuggled without too much hinderance...
This morning and last night the French police have raided at least 4 different locations throughout France and AK 47s as well as a rocket launcher have been seized...
France has declared a state of emergency for one month and have asked that this be prolongated for at least another 2 months, allowing the police to raid suspects at any time of the day or night.
Viva la France... Vive la république and respects and thoughts to those who have lost their lives or are affected...
I'm very happy to hear that you are okay and your friends will be in my thoughts. I was worried about you when we heard about the attacks and I didn't know how far you were from Paris.
Thank you for sharing that information. It is always nice to hear what is true and what isn't from someone who is there and knows details about the laws.
Hard times here right now but life must go on and we must celebrate life and NOT death...
All I have to say is that the people with the tin foil hats must not jump to conclusions with knee jerk responses...
This was indeed a planned "outside" terrorist attack... can't say too much at the moment as so much is coming in on the newsfeed to follow and to be quite honest we are still waiting for more news concerning the 2 family friends we have lost.

Good Morning Rod, I am sorry to hear about your friends and the deaths of their daughters, awful couldn't describe how I would feel if it were mine. We live in difficult times, I told the wife this morning I will never make a wise crack about French surrender again, after all you really were our first ally, and after this attack your president has proven he is a man of action. It is with sadness that our President is a man of inaction and can't even say the word radical Muslim, terrorist or even support purple hearts for fallen military after terror attacks on our soil in military bases. The strength your president and the people have shown is a example to the world the French are not to be messed with and should always be treated with the greatest respect. I was impressed with the immediate response by Law enforcement and military your country has provided to its citizens. I hope in all seriousness our country can show the support the French deserve in this time of terror difficulty we all face.
The warmest respect from an American Citizen concerned for our French Brethren, give your friends our thoughts and prayers, and be careful out there.

You won't hear anyone say it Nugget, but they have training camps here already as well. The FBI already knows and are monitoring them, but why they aren't kicked out of the country can only be explained by this useless administration.
