You have to hand the Russians one thing, and this is sincere. They aren't subtle, which forms something like a positive character trait for how strongly it runs as a constant.
yeah...on that last part? Sure... luck. It had to have been, right? After all, no one is even half the brains we are, or can come remotely close to the near God Like skill our technology offers us...right?
Until it happened twice more, anyway...
Oh, I see. NOW they say that, and NOW it matters to note that they aren't stealth, and by implication 'no big deal to do this to'. Okay...so...why did one official suggest they got lucky on the first intercept? These are easy to see on radar or they are not. If they are easy, why insult the Russians by suggesting luck had anything to do with it? If they are or can be a bit sneaky....then why play coy little games about it like this? The Russians OBVIOUSLY know the limitations as well or better than we do here ....so who are we fooling?

So truth, even when its evident and right out for God and everyone to see....isn't anything important to consider sharing by U.S. Officials, right? I mean, Russia has made little to no bones about what they are doing and what they intend to do. Just as the taking of the airbase and movement of fighters wasn't for 'force projection' or 'show of force' (as US Officials suggested at first, in what sounded almost to be wishful thinking) BUT VERY MUCH offensive systems for offensive operations? Russia is being as clear as they can be, while maintaining operational security, that they have EVERY intention of pursuing ground operations to eliminate ISIS to the last worthless person.
The fact I believe Putin is doing this in a way to appear FAST, efficient, accurate and clean (everything we are NOT in America right now) is a bonus I am sure he highly values. After all, I don't think Syria is the end of anything for Russia. This is just another extended shakedown of their military after a couple decades of near sleep and neglect. When they stomp ISIS...I'm guessing they turn their attention to creating a very Russian base of influence across the Middle East, to completely supplant what was once a region of US hegemony.
Ahh.. One bad President was all it took for strength to sense weakness, and start the process of replacing it wholesale. (sigh)
**Anyone know where they give Russian language classes on the cheap? I have this bad feeling I may benefit knowing conversational skills before we'd all like to believe that could happen (and how many nations or populations thought the same thing before US forces came to overwhelm and become a part of daily life? Too many...to think some aren't anxious to see payback delivered, IMO)
Russian fighter jets shadowed U.S. predator drones on at least three separate occasions high above Syria since the start of Russia’s air campaign last week, according to two U.S. officials briefed on this latest intelligence from the region.
“The first time it happened, we thought the Russians got lucky. Then it happened two more times,” said one official.

The U.S. military's MQ-1 Predator drone is not a stealth aircraft.

All these movements demonstrate the Russians are forming a "protective belt" around Latakia, the stronghold of Syrian President Bashar Assad, and are carrying out airstrikes against anti-Assad rebel forces, some backed by the CIA, to protect both regime and Russian interests, including a Russian naval base in Tartus established in the 70s.
