Believe it or not, that sentiment in the title is more or less what our Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States is saying.
Close a military prison still holding the worst of the worst, out of the bad that were captured over a 10+ year war, and presumably turn them loose to kill us again.....or he'll veto funding of the military and gimp our nation even MORE than letting terrorist murderers go free will do.
So... We're in a lose/lose situation, and Obama is the one happy to see the whole nation made into losers? Is that basically what he's saying here??

You know, I'd give a big shiny penny if this President would put American civilians ahead of terrorist ass hats..just once in awhile. Maybe ..just ONCE, as a new thing to try on for size??
On the other hand..maybe Russia can just bomb the Gitmo Prison into rubble and smoking craters, with every prisoner locked inside it. There ARE no "maybe innocent" ones left. They've spent years now, under some of the most absurd review procedures imaginable for the circumstances...LOOKING for reasons to release everyone there. The ones now are the ones even THAT process couldn't make right with letting go.
If Russia had a training accident over Cuba? Well.... I'd love it if they'd call Gitmo first, so the command can call the prison and clear U.S. troops outside the fence. After that? I'd say NHI...or 'No Humans Involved'. Level the place to the bedrock below.
True......that makes the whole accident story hard to buy..but these are the same people who told us Benghazi was over an Internet video, so I'm sure they can manage something.
