Social Media gets downright Anti-Social!

One more reason to stay OFF social media ........
Though way it going they should rename it ..... anti-social media ......

Very unprofessional and a cowards way out IMO, rather than telling him in person

What should have been a private matter has now been made public

Social Media breeds ignorance!

Personally? I have a facebook account I needed while working with TOS radio shows (they didn't do things any other way for primary communication) and that account is a fallback my wife and kid sometimes use for their FB time sinks (also known as games over there).

I DO use twitter a bit, although it isn't as simple to aggregate a feed now as it used to be, so I need to look at that a bit more to see if I will remain using anything from them. They are handy for how many Government and official organizations have come to use a twitter stream for fast and OFFICIAL breaking announcements, news items or things of real interest but below the level MSM picks anything up. RSS feeds do that better (and they present as the same, compared with a twitter feed if set up that way...and in terms of how similar the two actually are for function).

Outside that? Bahh.. some people say forums are dying out and social media with people who can't think in paragraph size thoughts is the way of the new world. I say that's a line of crap, and the fact the younger generation finds their own shorthand easier, doesn't mean they won't slow down into wanting a bit more than extended sentences to fit a thought to....or that many millions of older folks that enjoy conversation aren't around now.

Social Media has its nice little place in life ...while many of us are also quite happy outside it, IMO (At least I won't worry about finding my termination notice on Facebook...lol)

Will admit I have FB/Twitter....


However, in my defense it is only because of Hernando's......I opened up an account in my name to learn how to post threads, being as I kinda took it upon myself to take over doing the social media for HH when it got abandoned


If you look, I post nothing personal, nor will give out personal info when guys come asking for it *sigh*
(only the guys, never new women 'friends')


It only has to do with HH thread topics or any other interesting news feeds I find


Now I will say,  if I have the time and am in the mood, I will look around to see what has been posted and many times, I am blown away at some of the hateful and ignorant things that people will post online  

Smart man!!    


'Madness' will always be accepted here being as it is one of the requirements to be able to get into Duffy's


I mean, one must be mad to allow dirks llamas into the basement.....right? 
 

Guess you'd rather deal with cleaning up after them, than try to tackle social media
