Explanation: There has been a recent spike in the online viral meme to do with the Mandela Effect [wiki]
The Mandela Effect is a colloquial name for an instance wherein a group of individuals all mis-remember the same detail or event. The effect derives its name from the fact that many people seem to have a memory of Nelson Mandela dying prior to his actual 2013 demise. The effect first came to prominence when Internet discussion raged over the correct spelling of the name "Berenstain" in regards to the popular book series The Berenstain Bears; a sizable group of individuals claimed that they distinctly recalled the name having been spelled "Berenstein", with an "e" appearing instead of an "a". Some individuals have even taken this discrepancy as proof of parallel universes and as a vindication of certain quantum physics-related theories. Andrew S. Friedman, a National Science Foundation (NSF) postdoctoral fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), argues that the effect is really caused by fallible human memories, and that the notion that it is related to quantum physics is unfounded.
For the purposes of this thread we will take as an unarguable apriori that it IS a quantum physics multiverse parallel merging realities related effect and that this has legal consequences.
For example could a lawyer ask you during jury selection whether you are from this reality or another?
Would only people from this reality be able to give credible eye witness testimony or serve on a jury or even as a judge?
Can we convict a person of a crime if they claim to be from another timeline/parallel reality/place in the multiverse with different rules?
Personal Disclosure: Just throwing these questions out there to see what interference pattern/cognitive dissonance it generates!
My answers to my own questions would be ... yes, yes and no. {I will qualify these with my reasons in a latter post to this thread.}
The real reason I am asking is because I stumbled across information about ex senator John Edwards [wiki] being free and able to practice law when in my recollection he was serving a very long prison term and it made me think of all the legal implications.
What say you my fellow members of HH? Please detail your reasons why also.
Note: Please feel free to pose your own questions regarding this issue and I will try to answer them as best I can.
