Okay, as everyone knows by now. John Boehner resigned both his Speakership and his seat. Whatever the reason, he's a man I am very glad to see gone.
However...there is a new story out today, and while it shows frustration? It also shows how totally lost the GOP actually is. It isn't a pretty picture.
I don't disagree with the Sentiment. McConnell is another Yes-Man and old school corrupt politician in my view. That isn't what makes this story stand out though.
The man voicing this opinion is no small one. He's a major player in the national GOP power structure. He's the kind of guy who'd be saying such a thing when the feeling really IS widespread.
However, he demonstrates later in the article, just HOW confused and lost the leadership is. McConnell out. Yes. That sounds great to me. However......it is a good idea to think these things through just a LITTLE bit, before just blurting out whatever crosses a man's mind in public. I really DO expect more of our political class. They're supposed to be experts in communication and such, so why so stupid?
Oh...what I mean is this:

The whole article is based on his calling for McConnell's resignation, and that having come from this big guy in the RNC. Yet...the guy helping to guide GOP direction doesn't think through calling for the resignation of the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate far enough to even suggest a replacement?
......and people ask why our system is in such overall trouble? Oh, I don't wonder. I truly do not. I just wonder when things start making a bit more sense again?

“McConnell needs to resign!!” Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere wrote in a Facebook posting.

Mr. Villere isn’t just any Republican. He’s the longest-serving state GOP chairman in the nation, with 12 years on the job, and is the vice chairman of the Republican National Committee, the GOP’s national governing body.

Even Mr. Villere was stumped when asked whom he preferred to take over as leader of the Senate Republican majority.
“Honestly, I haven really thought of a replacement,” he said. “We are being so beat up by the base. I just was frustrated.”
