@snarky412, That was one of the things I noticed there a lot. It was only certain people that got away with posting things that others had deleted with a warning. I brought it to their attention once when I received a warning with 1000 worthless points being taken. I pointed out another thread that had the same thing in it. Do you think anything was done to them?
I've dove right in and made a couple light edits here, but just correcting quote tags and the like. Not so much changing contend as re-formatting it. When I do, I send a notification to the member so that they know it was done, and why it was done, and there aren't as likely to be any of those "WTF?" moments.
To this day, I notice people still post Obummer Think it was probably because that particular MOD was pro-Obama and didn't care for that usage
Never did understand why they deleted the whole post instead of just correcting the word itself
The whole post was probably too close to the bone to suit that mod, and they couldn't find a way to edit it to their satisfaction without destroying it, so they just destroyed it. Use of "Obummer" was most likely just an excuse, because like you I see it being used there all the time.
slurs or parodies of names is actually a T&C over there if you look..and I don't recall which one by number off hand. It depends on a mod seeing the message at all though, and folks assume far more is seen or read than really is I think .. and it has to be something that stands out for a mod to weigh the potential headache of a mad member vs doing something about it.
Consistency is a great idea, IMO. Then it removes a lot of that.

@ninurta,
Sounds good, you've got the right spirit.
@wrabbit2000,
I'm consistent, all right. If you can't slur or parody a politician, it's time to go home. (or get the shotgun, depending on your mood.) "Slur away, slur away, slur away, Dixieland."

When someone tells me not to do something, I stop whatever that may be
So since that time, I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've seen that name/slur used yet no one deletes the post.... Yet neither do I snitch
Being the youngest out of four siblings, I learned early on no one likes tattle tales!! Hence why they didn't mind their baby sister tagging along. HA (Although, I would have had some serious blackmail info if I decided to go to Mom. LOL)
