Many people in our nation and around the world tend to argue that Obama is deliberate and meaningful in what he does, or that he is at the beck and call of higher and, presumably, wiser men that are manipulating events to produce a carefully planned outcome.
Events like this are what most convince me that is not only false, but very far from what is true for the situation we see today.
Obama got the feather in his Legacy cap, and he fought for this until the Senate shut down political opposition. Now, he's moving on, as if this is just another agenda item checked off the list and a done deal for everyone involved. He moves on, as if this is over for anyone but him.

If we know Israel, then the IDF and Ministry of Defense is likely mobilizing for full and total war, as we speak. It may well not be national alert level preparation at this moment, and likely isn't in ways the public can easily see. However, the fact Israel believes this deal limited their options for paths without war is an openly stated fact of their perception to this.
If Obama were a cunning and wise trickster or game player, he'd recognize the bloody obvious, and figure a cunning way to play the challenge. Instead, he's blundering on as if his own perception of reality is, must and will always be that of the rest of the world ..and he 'says' therefore it 'shall be'.
(sigh) ... How can a leader who just signed a deal with a nation swearing death to us AND Israel, OPENLY now, and while the deal is still in final approval stages ...turn around and expect the population most in the line of fire to think of him as anything but a negligent buffoon, at best, or an outright enemy, at worst?
---
Back to the original premise though. Obama isn't a strategist, and he isn't very intelligent, outside his people skills to identify what people want and supply it for manipulation later. He isn't on the chain to much more intelligent or wiser men, because the same end result would be equally different if that were the case.
You all know what that means for the scary version of events today? This isn't any grand plan to anyone, and the people we watch running things....barely maintain control of a tiger that has no loyalty to any class, nation or people. Its "society" or "people" as a whole ..and that tiger bites, as it eats things whole. History shows it, and we're watching it.
Why would Israel thank the man who offered them up, for being made sacrificial goats?

JERUSALEM (AP) — Seeking to sell his nuclear deal with Iran to a skeptical Israeli public, President Barack Obama has repeatedly declared his deep affection for the Jewish state. But the feelings do not appear to be mutual.
Wide swaths of the Israeli public, particularly supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have little trust in the American leader, considering him naive and even hostile. One recent poll showed less than a tenth considered him "pro-Israel."

But the biggest issue has been the U.S.-led nuclear agreement with Iran. Politicians across the spectrum have come out against deal, agreeing with Netanyahu's assessment that it does not have sufficient safeguards to prevent Iran from gaining the ability to make a bomb and that it will boost Iran's influence across the region. Iran is a key backer of Israel's toughest enemies, and Netanyahu has warned that the ending of sanctions against Iran will result in more money and arms flowing to groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
