So..this pretty well removes any possibility of Syria turning out in a way we'd have liked, right?
Somehow? I really don't think Putin much cares what Washington is monitoring anymore. We have no red lines, no firm values, no absolute allies we'll stand behind without question. Why would Russia do more than give Kerry lip service and humor the guy?

I have no doubt Russia will promise not to do anything bad....while their troops in the field ARE doing whatever their mission calls for in achieving it. Moscow's goals and ours are not convergent here. They are mutually exclusive.

Now, there is no physical piece missing from the Gog/Magog scenario playing out. Only intent of individuals and national interests. Everything else? That is now in place, it seems.
