My feelings otherwise are ...

I don't understand why anyone in their right mind would do this IMHO the world is slowly slipping away piece by piece... just like ol said words cannot describe what I'm feeling at the moment I'm going to put my phone down and walk away for a couple before I get banned for my potty mouth...

Many people these days aren't making rational decisions, God knows I have made my share of bad decisions.

From my own perspective, such decisions came from some selfish motive fueled by emotions like anger or frustration. Many of the bad decisions I have made involved self destructive behavior like getting drunk when my attitude was peaking, or engaging in other risky behaviors. Not that I'm saying this guy was drunk, but that often factors into loosing self control in such situations.

When that point is reached, you no longer care what happens to yourself or others. When no matter what you do or how hard you try to get ahead or do things the "right way", it can seem like the world is against you and nothing seems to go the way it is supposed to. Your ideals and values get destroyed again and again, and after life experiences have forced another changed perspective, each new approach doesn't seem to work out. At some point you will feel you have exhausted every option and you either become suicidal, rage filled, out of control, or all of the above. Technically I suppose this could be considered becoming insane. Undoubtedly that will be the defense this lunatic will use when he gets his day in court.

I imagine that the guy who did this was nearing the breaking point in his life and whatever exchange happened with the fire fighter was the final straw to put him completely over the edge. In such a state, nothing matters anymore, nothing makes sense, blind rage was all that was left. There was no rational thoughts, no life or death consequences, nothing but blind animal rage with the desire to destroy everything and everyone in its path.

What a senseless death, a horrible tragedy



The Mother did try to reach out for help
They knew he would do harm to either himself or others, yet he was able to do as he pleased it seems



Maybe one day they will take mental illness as a serious issue and stop sweeping it under the rug


Now we have another innocent victim dead, for no reason other than "just because"
No remorse they said for his actions



My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends --- many of whom are his co-workers and are his 'second family'
