Ever wanted to know how big a Grizzly Bear is?

Damn that is a huge claw.

I loved OL's addition. I spit out some coffee. Dammit. I laughed so hard.

I want to say Dirk has me on keyboard number 3... Oh and I hold him personally responsible if my nose becomes addicted to caffeine. 

It's no wonder a 30-06 is appropriate for carry in Alaska.. 

The only time I ever want to see a bear like that is in my reirview mirror traveling at high rates of speed.

I'll be screaming all the way out of the woods and after I change my trousers, will be able to, perhaps, one day. . . . look at a picture of one again.

when our oldest son was in Montana, he went out with some friends who did black bear rescue.

They did feedings in the forest for the bears that had gone back into the wild and were readjusting.

He asked what to do if a bear attacked.

Our friend replied, "If you stand still, it will maul you and eat you and you'll die. If you run, it will catch you, maul you and eat you and you'll die.. but it's your choice."

Needless to say, that was the last time he helped feed the bears.
