Ahh! First, no woo, I have my own theory on the "paranormal" that doesn't jive with the standard superstitious slant (which is why this isn't in the forum for that stuff) I'll explain in a bit. First, let's chat about the weirdness that goes on in my house once in a while
I have mentioned previously that we have had a few odd occurrences since moving in here at the end of last year. Spyder's keys up & flying at the wall, a notebook doing the same. His cell has also taken a trip. We've heard fingernails rapping on the bedroom door at night (which led Big Kid to sleep on the couch that night) A muffled voice has been heard, and most commonly, footsteps. No, not the cat jumping on the floor hard, not a tree branch in the breeze tapping on the window or wall, etc. Unmistakable footsteps.
We are gearing up to a garage sale, thinning out our accumulated crap. The last 2 nights while Spyder's at work, we've spent down in the basement sorting through boxes to round up stuff to get rid of. We've also heard footsteps in the rooms directly above us, clearly. We thought the first night that someone had broken in, so my mother, armed with an old heavy frying pan, crept up the stairs to confront whoever was up there. No one there, nothing amiss whatsoever. We could still clearly hear the footsteps continuing, even the kids did.
Last night, more of the same, and another check with frying pans in hand (lol, don't say it) There was a heavy scent of tobacco on the first floor to boot, like someone had just lit a good stout cigar. We ran around the house double-checking to make sure nothing was simply smouldering somewhere, though we did notice someone was using their fireplace in the neighborhood. It certainly didn't smell anything like the tobacco odor.
I sent Spyder a text at work about it, and got exactly this back: "o.O", rotfl. We had a good chuckle about it after he got home, "Next time, tell it to stop smoking in the house!"
Now, while I don't believe a single lick of the paranormal explanations for ghosts, I'm also not saying none of the house's occurrences are real. On the contrary, I just don't believe it's a lingering dead individual, or anything nefarious. I think it's more feasible that the multiverse theory is plausible, and it's possible we, in this house, happen to live in a thin spot in the barrier between ours & another, and have interaction bleed-over. Think about this before you disregard it, it does have merit! How many times have you physically felt yourself bump in to someone or something, only to not have anyone or anything near you, or disturbed, upon checking? Well, maybe you still did, and merely scared the shit out of someone in another universe as their "ghost". Maybe you occasionally appear to someone else in another universe as a faint apparition, too. But you're not dead, either. I wonder if apparitions people have seen on our side would be thinking they have demons on their side telling them to cross over, or follow the light & so forth. If you're telling a "ghost" to cross, maybe that's coming off as malevolent to them, akin to taunting them to die. They may think of you as something cruel & evil. Ain't that some food for thought?
