Do you shelter your children from real life?

Well ...... mine were all adopted ....... the oldest four being vietnamese war orphans ( though suspect they adopted me ...... ) theyd seen far more than most kids ...... never did shelter them from the realities of life just gave em guidance and advice along the way ...... for all that they turned out ok ...... even with my smoking ..... drinking ...... swearing ....... and the evil exes ....... none of them picked up my habits .......

Now if can just get them to stop trying to civilize me along with stop trying to talk me into moving in with them back in civilization ...........


Even today they still adress me by my old rank rather than by name ......

Only thing can say really is always be honest with em ...... treat em fair - and use discipline as needed ......

Hmmmm ....... then again with all my bad habits you may want to listen more to others advice as depending who you ask ....... am either the king of hell or worlds oldest juvenile delinquent and bad influence ........

My question is what is real and what is not. Deception seems to be the reality of the time right now so sheltering your kids from what is real seems to be reality.

It took many generations for this reality to become so unreal that it is almost laughable. Reality is laughed at now and if you believe in what is really real then you might find you are having pills shoved down your throat. Now if the kids were to talk about what is real, the teachers might recommend that they see someone in Mental Health because of their delusion.

Just buy some stock, believe what they tell you and teach your kids the same crap that is being taught to them by society and they will fit in.

And don't worry about it, just keep reminding them that it is alright to know reality but it is not all right to be talking about it out in public.

Baptist preachers daughter was super sheltered. Couldn't dance go to parties or anything, just go to school come back home and work in the Baptist church. Man oh man when she finally got a car that girl took a wild hair and ran with it. I suppose she was trying to make up for lost time ?

Anyway there really are certain movies that young kids should not be exposed to IMO. To real for their limited knowledge.. it also depends on the kids...not all are the same for sure. One ghost, Terminator, or Aliens type movie can be more than some can handle while others want to see more and really sleep well.

Farm kids seem to grow up much faster than city kids IMO especially when it comes to sex because of all the animal sex going on. Body parts are body parts and it does not take long to figure out what goes where..

Unfortunately IMO kids learn many things from their buds in school right or wrong at a fairly early age. Also America is a very small part of the world and the morals and openness of other countries would make many Americans blush. I always tried to let the kids know something along the lines of: You are born with one thing more important than all others. Your word and reputation... If your word is worthless your reputation will be known as a lie and your life will end up worthless.. Seemed to work for me... I have raised girls and boys.. I like girls the best until their brain goes to their chest.. Boys are always into something (as they should be)and takes a dad who wants to participate in their lives outside the home... both bring laughter, pride, and sadness to a family.

No matter kids usually grow up inspite of their parents.

We had a doctor who adopted 6 kids all at about the age of less than two. Two of the six are in jail (call it a bad seed) while the other 4 all had productive lives last I heard except for one who is a lawyer.. :bugeye:
