Just Can't Believe this woman is an American

Somebody seems to have given the obama's poetic license to rewrite history without telling us.

Without getting into 'when is a colony no longer a colony' I think Mrs. Obama
is demeaning a whole episode of the history of the United States of America.

From what I can glean, she's implying that the nation was still under the rule
of England and that means she's waaaaay-off the mark in regards of actual
history!

 

We could discuss the semantics of the First Lady's speech and maybe she's attempting
to convey a concept of a 'new world' awaiting the latest residents of the States.

'To become an American'  -a person who adheres to the rules and laws of that country,
is to relinquish their former-nationality and embrace a freedom that many nations can
only envy.
For the guys and gals already there and the ones who were born in the USA, they can't
'become'... you're already one!!

In my view, the country that held the original thirteen states was under a sovereign rule
of another realm and the formation of a new empire was already well-underway.
Personally, I'd have hired better speech writers.

Yep... technically, but since she's delivering a speech to inspire the new folk, I'd have
thought she could have done better than 'There was nobody here until we fought the Brits'!!

If the wife sees this she will go into a hysterical fit of rage. The woman is a walking history book. Seriously it is
why she chose to live in Williamsburg VA. Jefferson was born about 1 hr 20 minutes from where I live. One of the
best things a person can do is listen to him speak over at Colonial Williamsburg. Bill Barker plays the man 
brilliantly, anyone in character of anyone like this in CW spends 3 years of study before they can take the position. 

When you see him in CW he is always in character and fields questions at the end of a speech always in character.
TJ is my favorite, she is always giving me study. We probably have 6 foot of length shelf with books of just the
founders she has read them all more than once. It is a shame to not know the birthplace of some of the most
important people in the history of this country. 

She exemplifies the reason we need better trash collection in the states.

The Micmac Indians off of Nova scotia in Canada (Since were considering all of North America) were said to have books written in latin in the chiefs library thought to be brought there by the Knights Templar or Columbus prior to his acclaimed voyage. Interestingly the Red Cross looks surprisingly similar to the Knights Templar symbols on their breast plate. The Red Cross. Which would put them in North America sometime around the late 1300's to 1400 predating 1824 by a few hundred years.
