What is it with America lately, anyway?? Do we feel some hidden need to lose? Is it a hidden desire to be failures? Perhaps we really do have national guilt pushing us to self-sabotage?
How else can this be explained as anything but a VERY BAD idea?!
Comes naturally? Yeah.. I suppose so.. Since about the time Nixon kept running until the nation finally elected the little criminal...just to come to regret that so deeply, it took 20 years to fully get over the damage done through Watergate and its aftermath.
Next, I suppose we have John-Boy McCain as the bad penny who figures being a failure enough times will make him a winner ...or some crazy logic. (Not quite sure how he thinks this works...but John-Boy never gives up..even when that is the best course of action /sigh/)
Do we need another loser coming back like that proverbial penny??
Umm... Okay, how much is this writer being paid to make Romney sound like the second coming of Christ for politics??
Romney is a two faced bastard who doesn't know which face to show as often as not. There is plenty out there showing Mitt 'Not Establishment' Romney campaigning like bosom buddies with Teddy Kennedy. Has that democratic monument to political games been dead so long now, we forget the importance of that??
Perhaps it would be more informative to show Mitt Romneys courting and full on soliciting of support from the "Log Cabin Republicans" and during the 90's...when that had 0 to do with 'social change' or anything else of a positive note for gays. It was shameless exploitation of the voting block, at a time when no politician ..much less a Republican...would do a thing to help them. Which..as it turned out..is exactly what 'ol Mitt did for them. Nothing.

Trump has really scared the crap out of the old farts running the GOP, hasn't he? They are willing to press a national level loser on us for round #2, as if he has ANY more chance this time than he did last time?
Hey..Obama is quite a character....and to LOSE to him? Well, that should be natures way of telling you Politics isn't a promising career field for future employment. Romney didn't get that memo, it seems.

Romney, who ran for President in 2008 and 2012, might get back in the race. It comes naturally to think so. Before the race got seriously underway Mr. Romney met with Jeb Bush to consider their fates. Mr. Romney’s wife Ann went so far back then as to suggest on Cavuto that If Jeb ran, Mitt would stay out, as they both represented a similar center of establishment principles and would appeal to the same donor base.

So as the “establishment” candidate, Mr. Bush, is suddenly being viewed as circling the drain, the frantic call goes out to Mr. Romney to enter and save the day.
But Mr. Romney is not now and has never been exactly an “Eastern Establishment” candidate, to which Jeb Bush and his famous political family form and fulfill the archetype. He brings a somewhat different political ethic and conservative moral base to the Republican party, in my opinion, a heightened, seasoned and more mature sensibility and Republicans should be delighted to have him.

That current standard now wants the high-minded Mr. Romney to sally forth and save the day against what New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd calls “the Good Son” is touching, but it is not enough. Too much water under the bridge from the Not-So-Good Son, and his peripatetic sidekick in the big cowboy hat, who never fired a shot in anger except that time he shot of his 78-year old quail-hunting partner in Texas, Mr. Cheney.
