Oh,my goodness! That is absolutely gorgeous! Your sweetheart must have the patience of Job!
How I wish I could see that in person! It's pretty rare to see such finely detailed applique quilts outside of books on antique quilts. If that quilt was entered in our local county fair, I'm sure it would take the Sweepstakes Award! Thank you for posting that picture; I can't wait to see more! After the holidays, perhaps? :)
She and I both say come to Williamsburg, Va. anytime we will put you up give you the nickel tour and you can quilt til you drop. In march we put on the Applique Academy at Kings Mill Resort in Williamsburg with some great teachers, and thats where the real applique magic happens. If you get a chance check out Rita Verroca she creates some amazing historic quilts.
Wow, That is pattern is absolutely Gorgeous. I love the detail and variation of the eight outer panels. Amazing !

Thanks Pennylemon that part I can take marginal credit for, the original pattern was for a queen so I used my CAD program and created the outer border to make it the size of a king. It was really kind of fun for a macho man, but don't tell anyone. I do a lot of artwork in PS and CAD for her and the ladies group she puts on every month. They are very nice people.
This is a quilt I made for my youngest child. The pattern is 'Moonglow' by Jenny Beyer. I just love her designs! :)
Nice Ms. Nugget.. People just don't realize how much work goes into these things. I was sure surprised, she does some technique called Applique' and in March we put on a event with teachers, and Kingsmill resort. It's why I am so busy now it is crunch time. We have about 150 attendees, and being a quilter if you wanted to go I am well connected it would cost nothing, just the trip out here.

Thank you so much for the invite! That would be a dream come true, as well as a trip to the Paducah Quilt Festival, but I no longer 'travel well' - so can I get a raincheck to use in my next life? roflmao

Yes mam we are already making arrangements for 2016, that is of course if your next life is in full operation at that time. It is crunch time for me the event is in 3 weeks I could be on my next life by that time.
I'm finally getting a few projects finished! Here's number one on my list of 'done'.....
This is a pattern by Derek Lockwood.....he's pretty creative at creating designs on the computer. I have 3 more of his patterns to make - but not until I finish the projects I already have going. :)
