This afternoon, President Obama got a CT Scan today for a sore throat has had "over the past couple weeks," according to a statement from his doctor, Ronny L. Jackson.
"This morning, an ear, nose and throat specialist from Fort Belvoir Medical Center conducted a fiber optic exam, under my supervision, of the President’s throat based on symptoms of sore throat over the past couple weeks. The exam revealed soft tissue swelling in the posterior throat and I, in consultation with the specialist, determined that further evaluation with a routine CT scan was prudent.
I am glad to hear it wasn't something more...too. After all, he actually did something I found staggering here recently. Especially for a man who gets full blown CT scans for sore throat complaints.
If that hadn't been well past the 21 day period by now, well......I guess someone forgot to mention Ebola is still detectable in breast tissue and sperm as long as 7 weeks after clinical recovery from the symptoms. Err.. Silly people and their need for photo ops.
By the way.....How much does a CT scan run these days, anyway? (should the costs of the hospital disruption count? ehh...probably not..but still?)
Nothing to costly for our emperor-in-chief. Stub a toe = MRI, sore throat = CT.
Maybe a little extreme but then again how much are the taxpayers withing to part with to avoid the chance of uncle Joe taking over the country if something happened to BHO? Actually though I'm not a fan of the prez at all I would rather see him medically watched over like this than not.
Doubtful there was any chance of him contracting Ebola though, I'm sure the SS and doctors checked that pretty closely.

I wonder which one of the ACA Exchange "health care" plans he's on? THAT'S the one I want! A CT Scan for a sore throat? What the heck you suppose they would do for a splinter? Amputation?

@wrabbit2000,
I think the key is having a sore throat for a "couple weeks". A persistent sore throat combined with a negative culture could be an indicator of other issues unrelated to the typical source of a sore throat (bacteria or virus). One of my symptoms for a chronic illness is actually just that--persistent sore throat due to lymphadenopathy.
The ENT probably did the CT scan to rule out pharynx cancer and other issues that would not be readily detectable via palpitation and just looking down the throat just to be on the safe side because he's the president. And god forbid, if Biden should take over that role...
