Talk about a Global reset ! There are people saying the D.J. may go as low as 5000..Oil maybe 30 if not lower... I for one certainly hope not!
A buddy of mine in the states was V.P. for one of the biggest service oil companies in the world. He is 59.5 and has retired form a job where he was making over 300k a year.... His golf game is getting better.... but that is about the only good news... On paper I have lost over 50k in the last month even though I hold very little stock.. My wife is not happy for she really is a penny pincer.. although I must admit I ain't smiling when I look at the numbers either..
727sky, Just being me here, so don't take my advice. But I would sell all stock and hold onto what ever comes out of it. Then reinvest it in other stock after a tad of research. I sold out my shares before the crash of '08 (Lucky for me) and reinvested in Ford back in January of '09 at just a tad under 2 bucks a share. Shares are no a bit over $13.00 apiece, so I still haven't lost out.
But I am still watching the market.
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

2 weeks ago we liquefied everything including the 401K when the wife quit. $50.00 in the banking accounts to keep them open other than that better in my safe than theirs. If you can't make your 401 liquid borrow all you can against it. You can always put it back...
Sky you of all people should have seen this coming we talk about here all the time, don't worry I won't tell your wife...lol 50K stings, your retirement package was probably indexed to something like the S&P.
It is going to be an interesting day in about 4 minutes.
Actually about three months ago I talked my investment concealer to minimize my stock exposure.. I did invest in commodities gold and silver stocks plus bonds. Thinking was if stocks crater bonds have always gained. Well commodities have cratered because of lack of demand in many sectors. Gold and silver have actually not done anything positive. Also even though my investment counselor is a personal friend and handles big big accounts for Wells Fargo his parents and I are all in the same stuff. I talked to him via phone three days ago and put a stop loss on my retirement account to liquidate everything if this continues the way it just might... Harry Dent said a while back there would be a major correction but there would be a bounce back..Then another correction and do the yoyo thing for a while.... If it bounces back I will liquidate everything... If it doesn't bounce back myself and many others are going to take some big hits.. I am kinda lucky that if I lost everything in the states and the federal government stopped issuing checks we won't starve or be without... but .... I won't like it...
They bumped on the magic number but they didn't reach the 7% for the shutdown.
I don't believe in the beginning of the end. The market crash is the mother's milk of the elites if you believe their is a select group of globalist running the show behind the scenes.. It may continue for some time as the milk flows but it always comes back, it has to. What are they going to do 7 years from now if it doesn't. We just need to learn to recognize the approach before the jump. They let you build your income through investment and then claim their tithing through manipulation.
Hopefully foreign markets recover easily we don't want a war over financial loses.
Now the pundits are talking it up out of fear, as they sit with stained shorts from the open scare.
Makes me glad my funds not tied up in markets or banks ....... when want to gamble go casino ...... better odds ...... more fun ....... plus free drinks and lots nice scenery at casino ........
I don't know why everyone is freaking out so much it's all a bunch of one's and zeros people need to understand that when they bet on the markets it's like Russian roulette it's only a matter of time before odds not in favor..

Tomorrow is another day. I am going to watch the Asian markets later tonight, I spent a few hours monitoring them occasionally last night and knew the Dow would be down quite a bit from watching them. I also looked at the futures but didn't understand how they worked and researching them to find a date was a waste of time because it isn't like oil futures at all. A person would have to know how to apply the info on the Dow Futures and I don't know how. It is like they are betting on a future spread.
