Now this is how its done for fighting back and winning!
Apparently he wasn't getting a very good experience up to that point, and probably not much hope that it would turn out well. So, he got an opportunity and took it.

He also beat the guy until the video fades out, according to the story. Sounds like a nice outcome except for the poor owner getting shot the one time. At least one robber isn't likely to want to try that again though.
