This is a wild one. The Pennsylvannia Attorney General is going on trial. In fact, she is going to face justice from the very system she STILL technically holds authority over, for something others in the nation have done as well (and need their own prosecutions for).
She used secret Grand Jury information in a political move to injure an opponent, corrupted her own office staff in the process of doing it, and lied under oath about her actions all the way around. That, at least, is what is being alleged and charged today.
It's rare to see a "top cop" get cooked like this, and they note that too...but in a real bad way, I must add.
It IS a sad day, and a very meaningful one in seeing how this turns out, yet still profoundly sad. When a state's "top cop" becomes its "top felon on trial", there is something deeply wrong with the system that produced this outcome.
What is interesting here is....She is a political tool and fool, by her own actions. A Democrat, for how much that matters these days, but has SOME meaning here for how her own party has no tolerance for her, either.

She could at least show the class to resign. I mean, this would be stupid to the level of near suicidal on the part of everyone chasing her, if it isn't legitimate. This is about the LAST PLACE anyone in a State Government wants to go, for the total chaos and disruption it is 100% sure to cause....and it is.
As they note in the story? How can a State Attorney General function while preparing to defend her own felony and truck load of assorted other charges?? Resignation would be classy, alright ...but then...this one seems to be lacking any class, of any kind, and it is why she is likely going to be run from office with a felony conviction, IMO.

Pennsylvania's top prosecutor barely spoke at her arraignment Saturday on charges including a felony count of perjury, but her attorney stressed afterward that she has no plans to resign, despite growing pressure even among her fellow Democrats.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane did not enter a plea during the brief proceedings via closed-circuit television in suburban Philadelphia and only responded to the judge with yes or no.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele called the case an important one for the citizens of the commonwealth.
"It's a sad day in that there's been arraignment now for the chief law enforcement officer in the state," Steele said. "We're here to proceed with the case and bring justice."

But her support among fellow Democrats has faded in the aftermath of a Thursday news conference at which District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman outlined specific allegations and filed more than a half dozen charges that also included two misdemeanor counts of obstruction.
Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat who took office in January, joined political leaders and editorialists calling for her resignation following Ferman's announcement.
