Temperature at different levels of the atmosphere are not equal or the same. You can almost think of temperature variations as waves in the ocean with highs and lows. The pictures show (to me) an aircraft which has flown through a colder level of atmosphere and left a contrail.
I have seen contrails long and contrails short just depends on the temperature of the engines, moisture, and the outside air temp.
Rain, I looked at the traffic in the Thames there in those two pics and it does differ a bit. Ask her how long the time was between each of the three photos. Those two do look cool though, but my first thought was lens glare and a cloud had possibly covered up the sun by the third one maybe?
The second photo though...it does look like something is at the beginning of the trail and Sky may be right. He is a pilot after all.
I am no expert at analyzing photos in detail though, so what do I know. Just giving ya a edumacated guesstimate.
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
Hiya Doug, Photos were taken a couple of minutes apart. Yes I'm starting to think there might not be anything exotic here afterall. I too believe 727sky is right.
To me it is nothing but a darkening of a cloud but because you told me to look for something I can make myself see something that isn't there. The power of suggestion can often cause us to see things that do not exist, especially since the human mind is constantly searching for recognizable shapes and patterns. You say tomato and I say mater- same difference. :)

Ask her what was behind her. Looks like a reflection off of the glass from the inside. Look down to the bottom left and center and you can barely make out a knob of some sort.
Okay, what are we talking about seeing here? I thought I had what you meant, until someone mentioned reflection..and what I was looking at couldn't possibly be confused with any reflections?
Are we looking at the contrail/visible track that I circled or something else?
The track looks like an optical illusion for angle, to almost look like it could be an incoming Missile in the 2nd pic. At least..if you kinda look at it sideways, and want to see something nefarious. If it had been, of course, it means World War III was fought, lost and ended (for all, probably) a couple years ago ..and where is the guy with the red and blue pills? I want my red one.
Looks more like routine commercial traffic that caught atmospheric conditions to throw quite a trail over London is my thought on it tho.
