We are still in the infancy of the campaign cycle. And I did like "The Donald" at first, but saw through his shenanigans pretty quick. Then came all the gaffes, the ignoring of what his policies will be, the continual "I'll make America great again" meme. And even worse of all. The fact that he not once said how he would make America great once again. The guy doesn't have a roadmap it appears and his GPS is broken.
But here is my prediction. Y'all might want to sit down for this as it combines just one of the worst case scenarios I can think of.
The GOP will defund Trump before to long. He is already running independent of them anyways. That will force Trump to then go rogue, but in doing so, that will cost him a crapload of his own money. He doesn't have the big pocket donors that the others have. His PAC isn't even a Super-PAC and nor does it come close. His campaign will turn into a money-pit. He will receive no more GOP dollars.
During all this, the Clinton campaign will be seeking to limit damages with all the scandals and subpoenas that she is going to have to endure, all the while trying to campaign. This will be meat to the media and her numbers will continue to fall as time goes on. Already there are those within the DNC who are looking elsewhere, such as Biden or Warren, both who have not even declared yet.
Sometime within the next 6 to 9 months I think that a deal will be made. Trump switches sides to the DNC (whooping and hollering that the Conservatives turned their back on him) and Hillary drops out of the race. Biden, Warren, Sanders and O'Malley wouldn't stand a chance if Trump switched.
Now Trump has access to DNC funding and can continue his attacks unabated. He'll still be tapping into the emotional base, (the same one that got Obama elected) and if he wins the nomination, I predict that he'll pick Hillary as his VP choice. (Bad choice in my opinion as the Clinton clan seems to have a way with eliminating those who they think are standing in their path, but that's another conspiracy.) They may even go as a team before the nomination!
Is that to far out there ya think? It is politics after all.
