Weird pictures of something interesting on Mars

I never know what to think about Mars pictures; photo-shopped, CGI, or real?

That 'crab' picture is different terrain than I'm used to seeing in Mars photos; it reminds me of places in Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.

I saw that article last night and downloaded the NASA JPG to have a personal look see. Whatever that thing is, it's on the original picture.

I'm on he fence with this one. It is a lighter color than the surrounding rocks and sand, but is similar to the ground in full sunlight above the cliffs.

Except for the "legs" on the left, that seem to conform to the stratified layers of the surrounding rock face, it's shape is far different than the rock around it.

I think it appears to be setting on the rock face, not emerging from a fissure. Also, the picture shown here has been enhanced somewhat, the original doesn't show quite as much detail of the legs. Nothing in the picture of the surrounding landscape has any rock outcropping that looks similar to this thing.

It is in the shade, I would expect a life form on Mars to seek shade. It is near some patches of green stuff on the rocks, however, that could be digital artifacts. Overall, it looks organic like some kind of plant life with roots or vines spreading out over the rock face, or a crab like creature holding on with pointed legs.

If this were a life form, I would expect to see a couple more poking out here and there. Also, even though I can't tell scale here, I wouldn't expect to see any life on Mars big enough to be noticed like this thing.

It is hard to think that this is just some rock formation or pile of rubble. It appears organic due to the color and radiating legs at the bottom and around the right up to the top. Still it could be some kind of mineral deposit. Like I said, I'm on the fence with this one. Very creepy though, kind of gives me the willies.

Nyiah the woman in the first picture looks like you I have a feeling nyiah is a dimensional being that travels to and from earth...

If life exists..then life is in something of a similar predator/prey model that we know here. It has to be, unless they live by star light alone, some form of inert matter ingestion or other near osmosis (which isn't necessarily impossible)? We don't even know the basics of our own system's planets yet to say anything is impossible.

However, if other aliens just walk up to odd lifeforms that are in plain sight, bigger, and trying to either attract notice or reflect it by effort? I'd say they probably become dinner as quick on other worlds as they would here if..say..you mistook a bear for a bigger variant of a canine with odd fur.....by knowing no reference to know better. The bear would sure appreciate the lack of defense and open arms to becoming a meal.

** and I wouldn't suggest shooting it if man were there to set up an observation position or camera to simply observe it ... That would be wasteful, until it presented an aggressive threat.

This is a rover though, and nothing will likely be back over this specific piece of ground to look up that vertical cliff face until man DOES arrive to backtrack the path for historic reference, and probably, tourists to check out someday. It makes a one timeopportunity, given that real odd location....so doing something to absolutely make a life form react ..or confirm it isn't by NO reaction whatsoever, would be worth it in my personal opinion. The idea that there would be ONE of them on a planet is absurdly silly ...and if they do find something that big...then we missed *A LOT* up to that point for missing the whole system to support them.

...If they find something like that and it isn't 'native' life.... Umm.. then I'd want a rover to shoot one THERE to see just how dangerous they are...before they make it another planet or two into our system. You know...make sure they don't dissolve the little rover with acid blood or something.

What drives me up the walls (to a degree) about all these Mars and other exploratory pictures is that they are always stills. I want to see video at some point. I know that the data stream doing such would probably be hard, but I think we would have the tech know how by now to do such.

I say, send that rover back to the same spot and redirect the camera at the object again at the same time of day. Then we can see if it has moved or not. Hell, send the rover in for a closer look. I know that Mission Control can do that at least.
