This is a fascinating story, as much or more for its mainsteam and matter of fact source as for the rather staggering way this particular gift of healing is portrayed as a disease or disorder. Science cannot fathom or accept "psychic" or spiritual gifts of ability, even when it is documented and proven with a sourced % on how many experience it.
This is what I call 'missing the forest for all those stupid trees someone put in the way'.
Yes, I am sure it is, too. A condition exceptionally rare..but not, by any means, unheard of, or unrecorded in history..IMO. It just isn't historically looked upon as a "condition".

Fascinating...(cocks an eyebrow)....kinda like..'laying on of hands'...HUH?! Something laughed at, ridiculed, and generally persecuted as hooey by the majority of society because no science can explain what could possibly be learned or gained by it. (gasp) Unless...maybe..just perhaps...some people within the 1-2% of the population the article says have this "condition" (and that is not a SMALL number of individuals, to take the math of it) are among those who practice "psychic healing", as a blunt way to put a far more nuanced skill.
A skill I wish I had..but have 0 talent toward myself. 1-2% tho...is A LOT of people in actual numbers. A WHOLE LOT of people.
