Palestinian toddler killed in suspected jewish extremist

What's to be offended about? I am offended and angry about extremists of all stripes. Jewish, Islamic, Christian, Dem or GOP, etc, etc.

About the only extremists I am not offended by are the Kumbaya types. Bless their little naive hearts.  Their hearts are in the right place, they just don't have any common sense. Wait a second, the lack of common sense makes me angry as well.

I am curious about how people look at that and suggesting Israel is trying to wipe out the Palestinians? The whole Gaza territory is roughly the size of Bakersfield, California. The West bank is about 75 miles long, by 40 miles wide. I mention the physical sizes for a big reason. 'Wiping out' or committing genocide isn't a fuzzy or loose term for definitions. Its pretty clear for intent to erase a people. Period. 

What challenge would Israel have ever had to depopulate a Bakersfield sized area no Israelis (at least openly claiming to be) are still in the line of fire for? The West Bank gets a little more complex for having a few hundred thousand Jewish Settlers who can, have and will fight the Israeli Defense Force as quick as they'll fight the Palestinian Authority to form a sort of 3rd side all their own. So depopulating the West Bank of Palestinians would be tricky....or Israel could simply stop actively trying to keep the two sides apart, and the Settlers would likely go about ending that question all by themselves. Israeli forces likely save more than they kill for Palestinians when it comes to that odd and quirky little side story to the whole thing. 

Still tho... If Israel wants to wipe out the Palestinians...why wait? What have they been pausing for all this time, and especially in past years when unprovoked bombings in city centers, and rocket attacks with all the predictability of bad luck, dropped in regularly? 

In fact...I'd note Israel has such comfort in total and absolute superiority (which they tactically have) they have gone in to destroy 10:1 for housing in reprisals for suicide bombings in the past. I.E... They know they totally control the population, and have no question in word or action. They could, hence, wipe out that population in a short weekend ...given the radical disparity in sizes and power... and well before anyone in the world could even react to make a difference. 

How do people see Israel as the entire evil here, and aggressor to destroy Palestinians ..when literal restraint is the only thing which prevents that reality from happening? The win/lose balance is just SO absurdly beyond comparison....it is fair to say 'Palestine' still exists because Israel has repeatedly chosen for it to. Choosing otherwise has certainly never posed a military challenge.

Only because if they wiped it out in one go the entire world would see israels true face and turn against it in a heartbeat ...... instead theyre playing a long-term game of attrition ....... funded by u.s taxpayers .......

Okay.. Well, 2015 - 1948 puts it at 67 some years of a 'long term game', if that would be the way to see it. Arab nations like Jordan just stomped the Palestinians into the sand and killed them until they gave up or ran away to Israel or refugee camps in Lebanon...to kinda put more than a few brutal years into one real oversimplified sentence. 

The Palestinians are kinda fortunate Israel likes the long long long game then, eh? They got all the time to say 'But I thought we were frien....' when Arab nations have dealt with them. Without exception, thus far...to look at it.

Personal experience defines our world views on everything, no doubt. 

I agree, and if you ever want to elaborate on the general reasoning behind your views? I'll be honest on it here. I don't think my mind can be changed on viewing the Israeli population (as a whole) as largely decent people, as can be found in just about any nation when we get to the normal folks who form the majority. Outside the general terms? I'm always interested in learning.

However...I have no love loss at all for the Israeli Government. It takes two to fight all these years, and the Israeli Government fights like few others, for viciousness. If only they sought peace in good faith with 1/8th the effort they expend on military force, they could find a balance between them where force isn't needed for regular conflict.

I love learning as much as researching, especially when people have perspectives from direct experience. That is a rare perspective to hear on anything, especially in a world where even media who go TO places so heavily edit and spin what they show, a true sense of things is never given for either end of an issue, eh?
