I heard about these reactors years ago, I think,,, Yes, Yes, I remember now, didn't President Richard Nixon Shut the research down, he was more interested in reactors being used for the fuel for nuclear weapons I'm sure.

I honestly do not remember or know. I do think many of the countries wanting old style Nuclear plants in today's world have a bomb making agenda under their power requirements. If Iran needs a nuke plant fine... Help them build a Thorium Plant.

Anyone against this technology needs to do a bit of research before opening their mouth; to many advantages without all the B.S. and waste from the older designs..

Yep.... tricky dicky axed it in favour of one that could build nukes with ......

It funny they worry about people learn to build nukes ........ yet the info on how to do it can be found in libraries and online ....... years ago they busted a college kid for build one .......

Ahhhh but if they go with cheaper cleaner safer methods they cant extort everyone on the electric bill ....... and they cant whine about global warming to extort even more out of everyone ......

The PTB will have that tech perfected for their use when they have destroyed the home world and either leave the planet or live inside a dome or a vortex (like in the movie "Zardoz").

IMO, for a cheesy, cheaply produced, B sci-fi movie, Zardoz was so close to a possible future, that a remake would be stating the obvious. I think I may post a thread about how a remake could be changed up to make it just a little more realistic. My remake would have to be unrated or an XXX, if such a rating still exists.
