Well, it isn't real if it doesn't have video these days, eh? This is quite a situation right here...
I can't find this on youtube to share, so the video is on the ABC site at the source. Apparently the guy swung a pipe or something ...from in his wheelchair..and that whole street FULL of cops wasn't enough to take down ONE MAN without beating him and electrocuting him.
What the hell are they hiring as cops these days? Wimps and children or what?!

I don't mind saying...I would outright fear the LAPD, as a 100% law abiding citizen..if I still had any situation I might have contact with them.
You know what this has come to be like? This is EXACTLY like someone LOOKING to hurt people. It isn't about REAL threat...but "handbook" threat. When the guy has crossed the "LAPD Force Handbook" requirement? LET HIM HAVE IT!!! ......whether there is a *REAL* threat there or not. The book says they won't be in trouble for inflicting suffering..so they almost gleefully seem to jump at the chance.
You know what burns my biscuits the most tho??? It isn't JUST that they beat and zapped a wheelchair bound man, with enough cops surrounding him to just carry the guy off...kicking and screaming or not. It has to do with searching Youtube to find this video...to find it is almost impossible.
Why would that be nearly impossible, especially for a net wise bunny like me? THERE ARE SO MANY videos from DIFFERENT cities all over the nation...showing physical abuse of people in wheelchairs by Police, I can't hope to find ONE in the bunch, when it didn't pop up early. (sigh)
What has happened to us..when we tolerate this overkill of force just because lines on a page in a book suggests it might be 'authorized'??
Authorities say they are investigating an incident involving officers believed to have used bean-bag rounds and a Taser on a homeless man in a wheelchair.
Officers allege that the man later identified as Christopher Zareck, 43, tried to attack them, but their actions are being criticized.
Cellphone video captured the incident, which unfolded Friday night, as officers tried to take Zareck into custody near Broadway Avenue and Third Street.

Zareck was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries and was later booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
“We are shocked. We are disappointed,” said Eric Ares of the Los Angeles Community Action Network, a Skid Row advocacy group that released the video.
The video is drawing criticism from LA CAN, which says the officers escalated force against someone who didn’t pose a serious threat.
