Well, this is just one dedicated woman, isn't it? Dedicated to all the values which have come to make America....what it is today.
That seems to include forced and ordered suppression of expression or opinion, and like it were just a routine thing to do. (sigh)
I think I even heard the National Anthem in the background....she's just so full of herself.
When you are a liberal and the people on MSNBC are mocking you?? I think a whole different line of work is a fair thing to suggest. Hillary is no good at being a politician. She is too much a control freak.
Oh...and I guess that WAS the Anthem I was hearing faintly around Hillary...it just wasn't OUR Anthem.
Actually, it really IS a quandary (dunno if you were being sarcastic)...
Most of the younger supporters I would imagine this being directed to are noobs out of University and getting their bones for basic Political Science experience in the real world. What better way than a campaign??
It sounds like you have the once in a lifetime opportunity to make a whole University education worthless...with just one misplaced interview. Hillary may be a corrupt little toad of a woman...and she is IMO...but she has the power to hurt people alright. She could lay serious hurt down on disloyal supporters, by her definition. Which means....destroying the lives of kids who believed in her, for a moment of bad judgement.
OH YEAH.. I want THAT running the whole country! What could go wrong??
What a pathetic, bitter little witch, too. She'd put the people MOST behind her ..in a nation about sick of her crap... in the most direct risk by her OWN petty actions.
She doesn't deserve to HAVE supporters with that level of viciousness.
I was... Didn't want to go overboard, as you probably know the saying - "If you have to explain - it probably wasn't any good, anyway."
Agree with the remainder of what you say.
I have a different opinion of the educated getting their first dose(s) of Real World. They bought into the system with stupid educations - because they didn't want to perform real work...just, get paid and possibly get a badge or honor or Office...by pushing & painting words & pictures...that make no positive difference. (my opinion)
I would hope that such an "eye opener" (topic of the thread) would cause them all to run away - and try to make it in the Australian Outback...with no cameras or publishing deals, as - Political Science is useful only for political careers and forming bad policy. (tainted with a pinch of sarchasm)

I certainly respect your opinion. I would disagree though... I bought into that system too, and still am 'in-progress' on a Masters degree track. Having said that, College certainly does have too many who have no business there by lack of conviction, ability or just plain interest. On that tho?? How much IS it the kid's fault? Have you seen schools lately?? Everything is turning to focus toward diploma churning to 'finishing school', as I've heard Comm College / 2yr schools referred to now. It's the natural way of things, so they do the natural thing.
You and I know...half those kids would do BETTER in a sweaty tech school, learning hands on tech skills to do real stuff. Maybe more.
Still... I gotta stand up for the Poli Sci kids a bit. It was a program I looked hard at pursuing myself once...and the system turns them into trolls after the win at ANY cost. I don't see anyone that would fit the description in college around me tho.
The system guides 'em there (College), then the system rips out their dreams and heart upon a few years doing it (Poli Sci).

@wrabbit2000,
And I agree with your right to an opinion - else, I (or you) would be the only one, here.
In the vein of 'education' (and even Poly-Sci)... Aside from paying one's dues into the system - what good do BS, MS, MBA, PhD, et al...do anyone...particularly?
I understand the need of reading, writing, comprehension, math & advanced math skills, artistic expression, etc... ...but, have seen those entering the marketplace (utilizing 'things' learned in said system of education) outperform their compatriots (whose degrees were tailored to the task, and/or from more esteemed clubs/universities) - And, while it is true that the core disciplines enabled them to learn & perform new tasks - they were of the character that would have learned said core disciplines, anyway, to perform at their level/s... They were destined to be the workhorses, keeping their employers' stars shining...in the public eye...but would not reap/enjoy the benefits of "good reward for good work"...because - politicos are better rewarded...anywhere...that requires a 'degree'.
I sat beside a young man (to me) early in my current profession. He was Poli-Sci... Worked in the Senate, for judges at the capitol, etc... He could not do the work. He bailed on our first assignment in the field...after three days. I was left on this assignment, on loan, and alone, for six months. I would return to the corporate offices Fridays, and leave out, Monday mornings... Within a month, the hi-tailer was sitting in his own office...thus bypassing the drudge others must mire through, to stay in the business.
Those that make it in politics, are the slime that keep the world sliding into oblivion/perdition. (opinion)
I would curb the points and barbs that might be perceived in the above, but hope you know that none of it is pointed at you (and others that place a different set of values on 'education/politics'). It is simply a part of 'where' my comments come from.
As to - "the kid's fault?"
They have no idea... Just doing what they've been trained and taught for the last 12 years (or so)...
School (all the way) is another style of military training - "You have no right to think freely. You must think and process as you are told. And these are the things you must think on, and accept as fundamental to life, conduct and success."
Appreciate your thoughts!

Well, I think I can sum up a lot of my thinking by saying that I've seen a couple people working on their thesis or PhD requirements and couldn't put sentences or paragraphs together as well as people who have never been to school. On the other hand, I think I've gotten a great deal out of the first stage of this, and now it is all core / major related classes where my education will increase dramatically.
I doubt I get a job with the degrees at this point. That isn't even my goal, and what I think is important to say about college. What my degrees give me isn't a degree to show off, but the skill sets I need to do what I want to do with the rest of my life. They just happen to give out a VERY nice finishing certificate...lol..
The bottom line for how I see it though is, college truly is what you put into it. If someone is going "to go to college", with no real goal or drive? They'll get the same level of worthless outcome as their half ass effort brings, and will likely be among those flipping burgers with a degree. If someone is pursuing an end result and goal with College simply being a means to an end, and not THE end itself for thinking? The education can make you whatever you'd like to be ...and have some aptitude for, of course.
But - would those institutions even be there for you to go to at your 'convenience'...if not for the farm-atmosphere that surrounds herding all the "I don't know why I'm here"'s...into the Guaranteed School Loans - "so you can spend Four or so years partying, before having to meet the real world...and start paying for your Four"...straight out of puberty?
If there were something I had time to learn, and the only place to learn it...was in college, I would do as you.
IS HILLARY CLINTON A BIGGER CONTROL FREAK THAN OBAMA?
I believe the answer is Yes!
Obama has become notorious for trying to shut out the press by using an in-house photographer and giving interviews to non-reporters, despite the media's compulsive bootlicking.
This is an administration that has locked reporters in closets and dodged press conferences as if the press corps had the plague.
But what if Hillary Clinton is even worse?
A bunch of networks and CNN wanted to do puff shows on Hillary to promote her pre-campaign. Instead Hillary Inc. went after them with the help of its Media Matters outlet and got them shut down. The only survivor is CBS's flailing Madam Secretary which is so heavily fictionalized that most people don't realize it was supposed to be a Hillary infomercial. link

My campus is part of the Missouri state supported system. It isn't U of M itself, but it is a partially funded feeder school to the University system here. I.E...people get General Ed courses for the Associates complete at as little as half the price of even State 4yr schools. So, I think my school would be there either way, really. Quality and funding ratio may be different..but still? We also have at least 2 major 'tech' type programs in being hands-on to workplace (Graphics Tech and Allied Health for nursing/medical short of Pre-Med) making it a sort of mix between tech and college type schools. Although, those direct-to-work programs are still generally Associate degree programs (you get all the Gen eds).
In terms of how my own school sees it, in fact, they started a new program last year to address the very problem of functional idiots out of high school. ...and I'm sorry if that is a harsh term, but it is an accurate one. When someone can't do basic pizza pie level fractions, or cannot make a 2-3 paragraph summary report on a topic? High school screwed them..and our school got sick of seeing those kids just fall into the abyssal deep of debt with NOTHING to show for it.
So... We have AEL or Adult Education and Learning...which is where you go when you fail to meet basic entrance exam requirements, 100% FREE, and working at your own pace with instruction available for just one purpose. Raising those skills to pass the HiSET (Old GED) or the entrance exams to full courses.
The big point here is..Not every school or, as noted by our campus position, state system is cold and ruthless. Most are, no question...and don't get me started on the damned glass ceiling math requirements make outside math related fields...but in terms of sucking people in for debt?
Some are trying to address what IS becoming a BIG BIG crisis. Its just overshadowed by BIGGER ones, or we'd sure hear more about it, I'd think.
