The details on it mention that each off-planet scene is modeled after a real location in terms of what satellites have photographed/surveyed.
I can't imagine how dizzying it would be at first to work on a moon to a gas giant. I imagine a person gets used to anything in time, but it would feel like the huge thing in the sky was going to clobber my little rock.
We have to leave Earth eventually though, and in a colonizing way. Otherwise....we're here as long as fate allows it for the next big rock to 'not miss'. Just random law of averages I suppose...and it may be a million years (or 20 years) yet, but we're all gone when it comes if we aren't elsewhere too, eh?
*Of course, the way fate goes for humans? We'll successfully colonize on a large scale in just one location...and Earth won't get wiped out. The colony meant as a lifeboat in such an emergency will take one on the chin. Err.. Yup... A regular Greek tragedy. I can see aliens sadly shaking their heads to watch and saying Karma is a rough one for us Terrans.
