I think I wish Texas luck in getting their gold.

Venezuela actually DID get theirs back, and it wasn't much if you believe the numbers for what should be in US inventory right now. Yet, they had to go through a lot to get it, as if the banks had to literally scramble in producing physical precious metal instead of digital 0's or paper.

I'd also read how this all started, half way innocent..kinda. I guess we loaned on our gold, England loaned on theirs, and a number of others did the same. Of course.. erm.. the problem has apparently been, some of that has been the SAME physical metal, and not all of that even exists in physical storage ..or so the rumors go. The same physical metal..being multiplied for leverage into the triple digit trillions. Silly..absurd numbers that barely have meaning.

I think one BIG and absolute 'margin call' on recovery of a large weight in stored gold could be that economic trigger to bring the house down. I wonder how much arm twisting they do with a nation like Germany to get them to drop such a serious request?

It wasn't to long ago the Chinese threatened to prove the quantity of their gold as a threat to the US because the amount they have is more than what the US reports is the total available. The Chinese thought being, I think, to cause a public outcry about US reserves and prove it's existence. Things got real quiet after that.
