I used to think the Taliban was the most evil nation-state level organization I'd seen in my life (Hold the US comparisons...there is corrupt and there is evil. The two are very different).
I'm afraid I have to revise my view of the world and the extremes evil can take within it. The Taliban committed public executions in a UN funded and built Soccer stadium in Kabul. It was a public spectacle and form of "entertainment", I guess. When questioned and called on their use of an Internationally funded and built sports facility? I recall their reply being reported as 'If you want a soccer stadium, go build another one...we use this one for other things!'.
The Taliban is best known for enforcing a fundamentalist version of Islam that many say is not supported within the tenets of the Faith itself, but took the core beliefs a few steps beyond what would be proper, even by those standards. Murdering women for being educated, being raped or just being women wasn't uncommon (and probably still isn't) in Taliban controlled areas. The news archives to show these conditions are overflowing with documented examples.
The Taliban are wimps...compared to ISIS.
..and with that? They're gone. Never to be seen again. The story indicates they likely ended up in the sex-slave markets of Raqqa, which is the ISIS Capital City in Syria. Raqqa is the modern combination of the sin filled cities of biblical tales..and then some, by how this reads.
When one veil isn't enough .... and the story indicates that the eyes being visible, even by close inspection in direct sunlight is a grounds for punishment. Punishment in this case is physical, brutal and hardly a properly controlled thing.
Biting??? What the heck?! The 'All-Women' enforcement unit against other women is also interesting..although they are required to follow the same codes as they enforce by how it reads.
The one featured in the story had been one of those female enforcers or members of the "Al-Khansa Brigade". She escaped when her husband died and they demanded she remarry another Jihadi within weeks. After all..women are interchangeable property to these animals...not human beings with individual will to be considered.

in the 1940's....no one knew (outside the German military and industrial machine) what was happening in those camps. Not FOR CERTAIN. Many in military and allied intelligence absolutely suspected, and that is documented fact within history. No one absolutely KNEW though. Germany wasn't a slouch on maintaining secrecy and security...so there has always been some collective world forgiveness to that unspeakable period of evil by never having been sure while it was ongoing. Once it WAS proven at the end of the war...well..that is literally a part of history now. The clean-ups, the burials using local German hands to dig, and of course Nuremberg. Where the world heard it from the very mouths of the men themselves, in their own words.
This isn't the 1940's. ISIS is not the Nazi Party of Germany with crack security maintaining "Fortress Europe". There are not similar doubts or unknowns in this situation. This isn't even Rwanda, with the horrible slaughter there ..which the world tells itself happened too quickly to effectively respond to. Well..This has been neither quick nor mysterious. It is ongoing and it's known well enough, as this story shows.
Evil exists in the world today...and it calls its capital Raqqa, Syria ..or the Capital of the new Caliphate.

The loud knock on the family’s farmhouse door was at midnight as they got ready for bed. Outside, five Islamic State fighters, Kalashnikovs hung on their shoulders and faces hidden by black scarves, were searching for girls to kidnap.
‘We opened the door and they saw my wife’s teenage sisters Sabiha and Sajida. The fighters told us they were going to steal them because they were beautiful,’ says Kafi Osman, anger still burning in his eyes at the memory.

Whatever the reason for living in this hellish place, all women are prohibited from going outside or travelling without a male relative. Islamic State imposes a strict dress code demanding all females from puberty upwards wear two gowns to hide their body shape, black gloves to cover their hands, and three veils so their faces cannot be seen, even in direct sunlight.

The teacher told of her horrifying capture by the city’s ruthless all-women police unit, the Al-Khansa brigade, created to enforce IS rules. ‘They said my eyes were visible through my veil. I was tortured. They lashed me. Now some of them punish women by biting. They give you the option between getting bitten or lashed.’

The terrifying brigade even stops buses to check women passengers. If one is found breaking the code, all the passengers are forced to get off and the bus is refused permission to proceed. The driver can be lashed because he let the woman on board.
