Macy's has made a big move by dumping Donald Trump after his recent remarks about Immigration that many saw as offensive...

Now there are many companies I would respect this from and consider it a brave thing...perhaps...maybe. However, Macy's falls squarely into that 'takes one to know one' category, if anything, and they are absolute experts in racial profiling and descrimination. A court of law has all but outright said so in the recent past.

Some may recall the stories that triggered that lawsuit, and some may have written about it along with myself and others at TOS when the cases happened.
Macy's probably thinks they look brave...but I think all they showed was how easily they could be played like a flute, to cave to whatever pressure is strongest at the moment. Their corporate culture as recently as a year ago sure didn't disagree that much with Trump's underlying feelings.

Macy's has reportedly cut ties with real-estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump after 700,000 people have signed a petition.
CNN's MJ Lee reports that the company will remove Trump's merchandise from its stores.
"We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation," the company said in a statement.

After an 18-month investigation, Macy’s has agreed to pay a $650,000 fine and hire an independent monitor to address complaints that minority shoppers faced heightened surveillance and, in some cases, wrongful detention at its flagship store in Midtown Manhattan.
The investigation, conducted by the state attorney general’s office, reviewed the internal “loss prevention” procedures employed by Macy’s at its Herald Square store as well as allegations that black and Hispanic shoppers were unfairly targeted by security officials. The inquiry found that Macy’s “detained African-Americans, Hispanics and other minorities for allegedly shoplifting at significantly higher rates relative to whites,” a settlement agreement to be released on Wednesday said.
